In many circles i'd imagine this to be quite a common opinion however...
Could Post-Britpop possibly be anymore boring because i'm struggling to think how it could be? It's like they've distilled it or something.

Thia ahould be on another thread, however...... Does a song have to be playd in a fucking nightclub to be popular? That Kendrick Lamar song is the most irritating piece of crap I have EVER heard (except if it's that David Vincent country song)

It's like they've distilled it or something. what is post-britpop ? A lot of the more popular soft indie rock that charted in the UK from the end of the 90's until the mid to late 00's could loosely be described as Post-Britpop. Keane, Travis, Coldplay, Snow Patrol, Starsailor, Razorlight, Stereophonics... That sorta stuff.

I don't really like Kurt Cobain's songs but I really love his voice. If he wasn't singing them, I'd never listen to Nirvana.

The La's were the best band to ever come out of Liverpool. One day you will discover a little known band called The Beatles and feel like a fool.

I'm starting to believe Radiohead are the most musically gifted band ever.

Not a fan of Bruce Springsteen -He can't sing or perform at all. The Who are overrated, The Guess Who might been the better Who band. Guns n' Roses are god awful band with a god awful egoistical lead singer. Billy Corgan of The Smashing Pumpkins is delusional these days no one cares of the pumpkins with just him. The world be better if Sting would just disappear from the world all together. Guns N Roses would be mine too. Absolute bobbins.

I'm starting to believe Radiohead are the most musically gifted band ever. I'm known to be quite fond of the old Radiohead, but I wouldn't go that far. All of them, Jonny and Phil in particular, are amazing musicians but the most musically gifted band ever will be some obscure Toots McGovern's Jazz Ensemble somewhere. Happily, it's completely meaningless! The Beatles are the greatest of all time and they weren't the most technically gifted at all. Their art was just supreme.

I respect your opinion, fellow Radiohead-head , but for me personally, I put Radiohead above The Beatles and Pink Floyd. I know they came first and more influential etc etc, but they have also produced some shit and mediocre music. Radiohead never disappoint in their output and don't produce crap. Obviously there is no definitive 'best' band, as everyones taste is different, but I think Radiohead really will make their mark in history. They've even had one of their albums preserved in the Library Of Congress.

I don't get all the fuss about Kendrick Lamar. Awful. Maybe you don't like rap/hip-hop? I like some. But I've already explained that in that rap/hiphop thread. Anyway, I heard from a lot of people who usually aren't into rap that much either, that he is "fucking amazing" and "changed their minds", "he's so different" and all, so I gave him a chance. Don't get the hype. Nope, not for me.

I'm not a massive hip hop fan either although I like a few artists and songs here and there, but I love Kendrick's last record King Kunta,Alright,i,The Blacker The Berry are all great tunes in my opinion and the rest is pretty good as well On Radiohead,I don't like their stuff from 2000 onwards apart from a handle of songs and I rate The Bends higher than both Ok Computer and Kid A

Paul McCartney is easily equal to John Lennon. The idea Lennon is far superior is a myth.
McCartneys overall contribution to The Beatles is criminally underrated - this idea he only ever wrote ear worms while only Lennon was the experimental one is tosh.

Radiohead is great but that album In Rainbows is overrated as hell, it was overhyped much because of that "pay what you want for it" thing, at the time is was hailed as the new Sgt. Peppers or something it was ridiculous.

People always seem surprised when they hear that it was Paul's idea to put those distinctive psychedelic tape loops on Tomorrow Never Knows. That's right folks - not John's. And to those who believe that only John wrote "angsty" songs, please see Oh Daring and Helter Skelter, or even his Wings-era b-side Oh Woman Oh Why. Paul is a lot more talented and versatile than people think.

Paint it Black feels too forced for my liking and too neo-psychedelic. I understand that they are metaphors to explain the depths of depression and what not, but it just doesn't sit right with me and it feels like Jagger tries too hard to invoke a vivid and psychedelic feel that's just not there in a song that has meaning which doesn't fit that kind of a feel.

Rihanna could've released one great big album if she had released a best of her singles in 2011, but instead has released a bunch of hits backed with basically fillers every year or so. And now the new one has a karaoke cover of a Tame Impala song
