Yea Rain got to disagree with U man ...... You can not like his singing , even songwriting , But PERFORMER MAN THE GUY PLAYED 5 or 6 hour gigs house lights would come on and people were all dancing and singing in the aisles man ....best performer I have ever seen , by miles , a bruce show is like a revival , even now at his age he plays 3 hour gigs and never dissapoints , Don't see how anyone can say he can't peform , judging by the millions and millions who make sure his show is sold out every night , that certainly qualifies as a unpopular , and dare I say wrong opinion , But hey it's you opinion , your entitled Springsteen is the only performer I listen to live performances on my iPod - seriously. Live 1975-1975 is the greatest live album of all time. Switch it on in the car and you could just drive for hours and hours just listening to it. As good as that box set is, its a great introductory live cd, it infuriates me what they left off of it. I understand why its so BITUSA heavy but there is too much music from 75-78 they should have included. Was actually listening to this today. I much prefer the story told here during Growing Up to the one on the box set. It includes pissing in a school desk, being a teenage werewolf, and meeting God.

- Blur fanboys are bitter twats towards Oasis, they like Oasis but they just don't want you to know that. - That Rolling Stones Black & Blue album is very good and underrated, great jams, who liked Noel's The Right Stuff will like this album. I found Blur because of oasis, love them now. My mates who like oasis don't get it though. Black and Blue is a great summer album. Hey Negrita, Fool to Cry, Memory Motel, pure gold. Right stuff my fav CY tune.

beady eye was a fun, terrific little rock 'n' roll band.

The Cardigans are one of the best bands of the 90's. A top 15 artist of the era in my opinion. Life and First Band on the Moon is one of the best one-two punches of the decade. Great pop-rock (in that order) albums. Their b-side album The Other Side of the Moon is very underrated and speaks to the band's quality songwriting. Very of its time, but I miss these breezy, classic songwriting, band instrumentation, pop songs. Could see this vibe coming back in a kitsch way in the next 5 years with a 90's revival. Doesn't have the emotion of the original but I always liked their cover. There is another version they do as a duet that I have on my computer but I can't find on YouTube anymore.

I really don't get what people see in Arcade Fire. Average at best, pretty overated band. This is probably your worst post in the last 50 years... Graciãs.

I like Magic Pie as much as I like Champagne Supernova.
Maybe just a tiny bit less. But still pretty comparable. Magic Pie is epic, psychedelic, uplifting, has interesting lyrics (apart from that one line), and funky ending. I like the acoustic version but it looses what is memorable about it, to me. The Dublin Point 1997 version from Noel Gets to the Point is the best.

I don't care for The Arctic Monkeys Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends is U2's best album. Pink Floyd>>>>>>>Led Zepplin Jon Hopkins>Brian Eno (not counting Eno's superb production work) Be Here Now is a better album than WTSMG. I love The King of Limbs.
Oasis were good.

Pink Floyd>>>>>>>Led Zepplin That's really like, well, comparing 'Apples and Oranges'. Jon Hopkins>Brian Eno (not counting Eno's superb production work) Ouch. Be Here Now is a better album than WTSMG. Agreed, for so many reasons. I love The King of Limbs. Wholeheartedly agreed. :-) Oasis were good.

There are certain bands that I love that have supposedly "sold out" and I still love their newer material as well. Bands like Coldplay, Kings of Leon, The Courteeners, and Kasabian are some of the best bands in the world to me

I second that. Most bands who make a musical transition, do it very naturally. The only one I can think of that's a bit strange is Mumford and Sons' transition. They sound like a Kings Of Leon tribute band now.

It's not the lyrics I'm referring to. It's the sound. He tried to write the poppiest, catchiest album he could and dressed it up in synth pop. It's the only album of his I'd consider pop at all and it elevated him into the stratosphere and then he quickly stripped down the sound and dismantled the band after its success. He looks like a cartoon character in the BITUSA video. Then he is dressed like a preppy tool in tight pants dancing like Carlton from the Fresh Prince with Courtney Cox in the DITD video. Plus the cover of the album is his ass.

Smith Westerns and Alvvays are two of the best pop/rock n'roll bands of the past 5 years. Both have incredible melodies and guitar hooks. Smith Westerns are done now, but all three of their albums merit a listen. Dye It Blonde is a fantastic record and the other two are pretty great as well. Alvvays only have one album right now, but damn it is an impressive piece of work. The most enjoyable album of 2014. I have a lot of hope for them, really nice group of people as well.
As both bands are Oasis fans, and do share an anthemic quality. Think both grew up on Oasis songs, the girl in Alvvays said DLBIA was the first song she learned on guitar.
Smith Westerns
Varsity
Alvvays
The Agency Group
