I don't give a fuck what a majority of you think about Ye on this forum. He is a legit all time great, whether you like him (or he's rapping skills) or not.
This is really good best thing I've heard from him since Yeezus. Only One is okay for what it is and I found Wolves a little underwhelming. This is really good. Kinda combines Yeezus' minimalism with the good Chicago party vibes of his early material. Hint of MBDTF in some parts with the vocals. If he delivers yet again it only adds to his legacy.

This thread is just as embarrassing as that Radiohead one. I'm not the most ardent fan of Mr. West, but the number of disparaging comments on Kanye and rap music in general are shortsighted at best. Yeezy may not be for you, but to claim that his music (or rap music in general) somehow isn't music is narrow-minded. I bet if they put aside their prejudices and stereotypes of Kanye, any fan of Be Here Now would really enjoy My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Both records have that same overblown, kitchen sink, egotistical, self-indulgent style. And the songs on both are way too long!

Kanye West is quite arguably the greatest and most influential artist of this century. He is, as he says so often, a real creative genius. I used to be like many of the people on here who listened mainly to alt-rock and thought anyone who made mainstream rap music must automatically be a talentless idiot. Such an incredibly ignorant view. Kanye's discography and influence in hip-hop is, in my opinion, second-to-none. Ok, he isn't nearly a great rapper but as an overall hip-hop artist he's more creative and varied than anyone I can think of. And mystoryisgory, you shut your whore mouth about "flaws" in MBDTF

I still don't know which version I have since he released it, pulled it, released it, pulled it, added songs, removed songs, complained about songs, started streaming, stopped streaming, quits tidal, love tidal, sues tidal, cancels tour. I have no idea what this dude is doing half the time.

It's erratic, chaotic, alternating between transcendent highlights and crushing low lights. It's really The Life of Kanye.

Particularly hypocritical on a forum where all of us own Heathen Chemistry! Fuck knows where my copy is, though. Certainly don't have it in my iTunes. Also, even though it's personally my least favourite Kanye era and I don't particularly like the song, it's been ten years of his electro-anthem Stronger: Thank fuck he stopped wearing those glasses. Started using the CD as a cheese slicer, but had to stop as I got food poisoning. It's 10 years since I bought Heathen Chemistry. It's still somewhere hidden away wearing the perennial dunce hat in my music collection, lingering about with some equally shite Keane and Snow Patrol albums I shamefully bought as a 16 year old. That phase was like a traumatic fusion of a mid life crisis occurring during puberty.
