Win Butler joined Future Islands on stage for a performance of the phenomenal "Seasons (Waiting On You)".

Richard confirmed the other day that Will is indeed working on a solo EP that will hopefully be out shortly.

the other day I had the iTunes library on 'shuffle' and mistook 'Flashbulb Eyes' as a Clash song for a little bit...
if I didn't know better and were on enough 'ludes, I might mistake 'You Already Know', 'Awful Sound (Oh Eurydice)' and maybe even 'Here Comes The Night Time' as Clash songs as well.
God bless.

I can't believe it's nearly been a year since this album was released. Where does the time go - as you get older, years flash by like days now.
Still holds up really well for me - not as good as Funeral or The Suburbs (my favourite album from the 00s? Quite possibly - anyone would be hard pressed to top these two) but quality nonetheless.
Will be fascinated to see what they have in store for LP 5. Anyone got any guesses?

A year later and you are correct in saying it holds up well. The only track I can't really get into is "Flashbulb Eyes". Everything is money. Songs like Reflektor, We Exist, Normal Person, It's Never Over and Afterlife I spin all the time. I'd still take Funeral (First AF love) over Suburbs. The latter to me gets a little "samey" towards the end but does feature absolutely spellbinding moments.

Dont know why but CBS Sunday Morning is doing a profile airing at 9am this Sunday. Surprisingly, the host of that program is a HUGE Arcade Fire fan. Should be interesting to see.

I saw Festi at Glastonbury, there was a screening of it at 1am one of the days but as it wasn't officially announced there was only about 20 people there! Think that was one of the first showings as well. Anyway, I really like it even if it's more than a bit strange.

I've been debating buying these all day. Can't beat a $5 ticket. However commuting from Hoboken to Brooklyn and back again later is such a pain in the ass. Man I sound old.

Will has played 2-3 solo gigs on the Reflektor tour. Each time alone with just an electric guitar. I'm expecting a similar situation and 45 min of show.

I went to the Will Butler solo show earlier tonight in Brooklyn. It was a small bar with a back room that maybe held 150-200 people. He did not disappoint. He took the stage at 7 pm and was finished by 7:45 pm performing 10 songs by himself and two female singers. A couple of them were acoustic driven, others rocky and some piano based ballads. Arcade Fire has a serious George Harrison thing going on if Will is going to sing and perform music like this. Move over Win and Regine. William has arrived! Solo album is still TBD. I asked him after the show. Funny story, before the show I asked the bartender where the bathroom was and I guess misheard him because I went around the corner and through a door straight into Will's backstage/green room area taking a good 3-5 steps before realizing I was in the wrong place with Will and his entourage staring at me. A very Spinal Tap moment for sure. Rock n Roll!!! "What I Want" "I Don't Know" "Sun Comes Up" "Surrender" "Take My Side"

Interesting. Don't care for the back up singers. Hard to tell from cell phone videos but his voice doesn't sound too strong. Sounds of when trying to sing in falsetto. Wonder how it'll translate to an actual album.

Wonder how it'll translate to an actual album. Will went full Beady Eye on us with those female back up singers doing a Bring The Light style vibe.

You know what's funny? My videos made the front pages of Pitchfork, NME, Stereogum, Brooklynvegan and Consequence of Sound. All but one credited the videos to the first site that discovered them on YouTube but not the actual people who recorded them. I don't care but just find it funny.
