Apparently NME gave it a 10/10 and named it as possibly the greatest album of the last decade....

Apparently NME gave it a 10/10 and named it as possibly the greatest album of the last decade.... I'm loving this record, but that's a mistake. It is just another example of the NME's immatureness.

I think One for the Road is one of the best songs they've ever done. Incredible song.

Having heard all the tracks a fair few times on youtube, got to say they are growing on me all the time, how would others rate the tracks so far even though its not even been released yet, in order id go -
Do I Wanna Know R U Mine Arabella Mad Sounds One for the road Fireside Knee Socks Why'd you only call me when you're high Snap out of it I want it all No.1 party anthem I wanna be yours
Difficult though because they're all good, gotta say though the tune im playing most is the b-side, Stop The World I Wanna Get Off With You, what a tune that is. Dont understand why they left it off the album to be honest.

I've only heard it through once tbh Wirral but the first two track are 9/10 out of 10 tracks for me, absolute quality. I liked the next few tracks a lot until about "No. 1 Party Anthem" I think were it started to drag a bit but I remember "Fireside" being cool and getting it back on track for me. The rest were great until "I Wanna Be Yours" which was a disappointing closer for me, if I remember correctly I think I really liked "Snap Out Of It" though. I was never really fussed by Suck It And See to be honest, this is definitely more my cup of tea.

Good album, much better than SIAS, really liked Snap Out of it and Arabella, the singles are great, even if there isn't nothing truly memorable like Teddy Picker or Cornestone, and the falsettos become annoying after a while. Liked their new sound, but it seems like that I'm listening to a Rihanna album for some reason, a friend of mine didn't like it and said that this album is a huge sell out to american market.

It pisses all over SIAS.
Do I Wanna Know One for the Road (THE BEST on the album by far) Arabella Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High Snap Out of it
All brilliant songs in their own right.

Btw, I like the new look mimmi From what I heard, the new album doesn't sound similar to the last album, but I like that they tried something new again. Thanks for the kind comment for my new "look". I had the same sig for 8 years. Someone from this forum made it for me and I relly love it. The new sig was a gift by an another member on this forum years ago too.

Yeh it definitely is a new direction for them, some people have cited it 'sexy' and it does have an 'after-midnight' sort of feel to it, lots of falsetto and momentous beats so yeah I guess it does differ quite a bit form Suck It And See. It's all good change though and in certain songs you can still hear bits of Humbug-esque sound whilst retaining the spirit of the first two albums.

Quality album.

Okay, I'm willingly to say that this album is great. Every song is not only holding up but getting better. They are really one of the best bands around. Turner is hip enough to touch on a trend but his songs have a timelessness to them.

It's a really really good record I agree. I would put it on a par with Suck It and See for now (my favourite Arctic Monkeys album).
But 10/10 - greatest album of the last decade from the NME? Ridiculous - that rag magazine really needs to broaden its horizon.

Still not as good as The Next Day in my opinion but it just has the edge over BE for me. Great stuff from Turner

Five studio albums and recent career defining sets at the London Olympics and Glastonbury Festival have seen the Arctic Monkeys grow into a confident live act and indisputable headline quality billing on the back of a consistently high quality sonic output. Adolescents, first introduced via 2006’s debut album ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not‘, have followed the band’s path from late teens to mid-twenties – matching the trajectory of the group in a clear transition from youthful naivety to unabashed self-assurance, becoming a generation-defining band reflecting a sound tweaked and honed through sufficient life experience. Just got the album and have listened to it a few times already. It's a really good album.
I must admit they're one of the best mainstream bands in the world at the moment. I love that they always try to new things.
