God bless.

No Beady Eye's songs are not that bad. don't know what the problem is. but a band which writes tunes like "four letter word", "The morning son", "wigwam", "Flick of the Finger" etc. has full right to BE and perform!

Geeze, its as simple as this. beady eye will keep releasing music that won't do much if anything for the general public. We will get it and love it for a tiny while but then quickly become bored and will only ever listen to the odd song regually . In 2-3 years we will start getting excited waiting for magazine interviews, song titles, 90 sec clips etc and the cycle will repeat again. The joys of being an oasis fan.

Thing is Elvis had people lining up for him to sing their songs, it was an honour to have Elvis (the King) sing one of your songs, can't really say the same about Liam can we? Who is really going to want Liam Gallagher to basically butcher one of their songs? Elvis had a a very wide vocal range, meaning he could basically sing anything he wanted and pull it off, again we just can't say that about Liam, sadly.

God bless.

It's music, there's no precise formula to it. Yet, it seems Beady Eye (and in part, Oasis at the end too) are always repeating the same old tricks.
Take Miles Kane, for instance. His music shares a lot in common with what Beady Eye does, but he brings something different to it, something fresh.
Another thing about old tricks is the constant borrowing of riffs and other stuff from all the great bands from the past. And what's worse is it's completely uncalled for. For example, i like Flick of the Finger, specially Liam's singing. But at the very end of the song, you get that final drum going BUM BUM TSS TSS. That sounds a lot like the ending in Helter Skelter, you can even notice they're probably using the same drum kit Ringo was using or whatever it is that sounds like the Beatles in the White Album.
And why? What was the need for that drum beat to be there? Is it supposed to sound like they were jamming carelessly when recording Flick of The Finger? It's not that kind of song. Helter Skelter is, this is not. The final drum beat is just pure, 100% cliche that they just throw in the song like that. And they do it all the time. And that's coming from a bunch of seasoned professional musicians, which is even more annoying.
The other major flaw in Beady Eye's first album (and in part, Oasis at the end too) is the bad, highly compressed, sound production. But actually, this time there's a good chance they're doing it right, with this new producer they got. I hope so.
Then there's lyrics, but there's not much that can be done about that. And if the other stuff i mentioned was ok, the lyrics wouldn't matter anyway.

LOL at the level of discourse of whether "Flick of the Finger" is modern or not, "retro" or not.

Theres nothing wrong with beady eye, they are as a collective one of the most talented bands on the planet with very under rated musicians and the best rock n roll singer/frontman in the world.one of the reasons beady eye will struggle tho is the general opinion of that great frontman, hes hated by alot of press and public, they see liam the frontman not liam who signs every autograph and has every pic taken and givea to charities allover, the public like noel the one who laughs and generally seems a nice guy but behind the scenes is ruthless

I reckon he'll struggle because the songs just aren't there anymore, not because he acts like a bad boy.

I reckon he'll struggle because the songs just aren't there anymore, not because he acts like a bad boy. That's the thing though, he isn't a bad boy anymore, he's not some guy in his early twenties fronting a rock and roll band and making millions, you'd expect him to behave like he did, they were on top of the world for a couple of years, now he's 40 year old and to most people, that kind of behaviour isn't at all interesting or even acceptable any more which is probably why he's so unpopular now with most people...
