Those moments between dreaming and being awake..........

The last year, Kid A has grown a lot on me, I find it much better than OK Computer. I still don't rate OK Computer that much to be honest, I think it's very good but I fail to see why it is rated as one of the greatest albums of all time. They are a very very good band though, not my favourite but they can still release good tunes. They haven't made a decent record in ages though - King of Limbs I found very poor, with the exception of Codex though which is one of their best tunes ever. I don't even think that it's the best Radiohead album, let alone the best album of all time. I don't think I will ever understand the Kid A love. I am much more partial to OK Computer and Hail to the Thief. Um, as for this, it's hard for me to say since I love so many different genres of music. I might go with the default answer though. Not my favourite - my favourite Radiohead songs are actually a handful of ones over the course of the millennium. But my favourite, as a whole album, is The Bends.

Hail To The Thief has been my personal favourite for quite a while. I'm not a massive Radiohead fan by any means but 2+2=5 pretty much blew my head off the first time I heard it. Astounding song.

Hail To The Thief has it's fair share of quality tunes no doubt. For me its the middle ground between being Amnesiac Radiohead and Ok Computer Radiohead. - 2+2 = 5 - Go To Sleep - Where I End and You Begin (The Sky Is Falling In) - There There - Myxomatosis (Judge, Jury & Executioner) I still think the album could have used some trimming. It didn't need to be 14 tracks long. Even the band admit this now. They said coming up with the tracklisting for the LP was misery.

I get the impression that if Radiohead had wrote Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is it would have been hailed as a masterpiece, I don't doubt that. True words.

Radiohead is a good band, the problem are their fanboys, sad lonely vaginas that never touched a girl and spend their lifes on a computer praising Radiohead and slagging off other bands on every music forums like rateyourmusic, sputnickmusic..., and some of them even created a popular website like Pitchfork, cos they don't have anything more to do. You must have a point there, i mean it baffles me when i see greatest albums of all time lists and Radiohead have like 5 albums in the top 20 or something stupid, its just laughable it really is.

You don't think albums like The Bends, Ok Computer, Kid A and In Rainbows earned their place? The first 3 listed are titans in rock at this point. It's not like they listed 5 Travis albums or Smashing Pumpkins.

Once "The Gloaming" heats up it's very hypnotic.

I like Radiohead a lot. Not one of my favorite bands but The Bends and In Rainbows are both probably in my top 30-40 albums with Kid A and Ok Computer being in the top 100 for sure.
That said their newest album KOL was/is completely boring. Codex, Separator, Lotus Flower are great and Bloom has its moments but the rest of the album is some of the most boring stuff they have ever done.
But the perhaps the biggest let down that I've had with regard to Radiohead is when I saw them live. I had heard so many good things but they really weren't that impressive, maybe thats due to them touring KOL, which doesn't contain my favorite material, but still I don't know if I've ever gone to a gig leaving that disappointed.
They'll rebound with their new one I'm sure and they are one of the most important bands in the world.

Ive only seen them live once, on the In Rainbows tour, and was completely blown away. But I probably wouldnt have enjoyed it as much during the KOL tour because like you said that album isnt as good as their others.

The In Rainbows tour might have been one of their best "setlist" tours from all eras. The KOL tour was extremely heavy on material post 2000, especially between 2007 and 2011. I didn't mind because I like The King of Limbs, the b-sides played and unreleased tunes debuted like like Identikit, Skirting On The Surface and Ful Stop.

I'm not questioning who was more successful at all , just when I see music being compared is all I'm saying , . see I can compare Aerosmith. To van Halen musilcaly , even GNR to zep. Cause GNR played some mellow tunes , But Oasis and Radiohead musically are so different I don't see the need , but that's just me

They continue to be one of the best live acts in the world and pump out critically acclaimed albums. Oasis imploded and was in retreat since 1998 sadly.

I'm aware , I wasn't even adress ing that , just the reason why I can't compare ....as for popularity , there's no doubt in the states Radiohead are on the radio more , by quite far actually .,,in the UK no way , but here yes , that's a debate I'll leave to you my friend , I don't care about that . I just was commenting on how different they are ..in the states Radiohead ate more successful IMO if judged by radio airplay anyway Edit : I'm no good when I get notices that musta been to him .... I agree with your assessment Lennon2217 besed on USA popularity no doubt

I agree with your assessment Lennon2217 besed on USA popularity no doubt Wasn't directed at you. If I had to pick a career to emulate it would be Radiohead. They lasted longer, kept getting stronger and still remain relevant globally heading into 2014. You obviously can't say those same things about Oasis. Sure they had some incredible highs, but they also had big time lows. Pains me to write that but it's true. A lot of great Oasis potential was wasted.

I figured after I posted... I'm no good with these getting notifications when they really are t meant for you , sorry ..... Yea I agree with that Lennon2217 there highs were higher but lows lower . And overall Radiohead are the more consistent in terms of success over time ...... Me in music like sports . I go for who I think was better not over time , but who I seen , example. : emmit smith. Gained more yards . Played longer , was great......... Earl Campbell . Got hurt, didn't get as many yatrds . But at his best was a better back than smith and I would take him over smith if both were healthy ....., same with Oasis over Radiohead if I had to offer a opinion. But as I said , I can't compare there 2 totally different sounds
