radiohead are a dull band, his voice is weird & I think to enjoy there music you'd need some drugs first, oasis's b-sides beat all there shit put together. I doubt they've released a single as good as the masterplan or rockin' chair. the question should be noel or thom :-) To say Radiohead don't have great b-sides is a serious oversight on your part. Don't sleep on these tunes: - The Trickster - Killer Cars - Talk Show Host - Palo Alto - Fog - Cuttooth - Gagging Order To say Radiohead don't have singles to compete against Oasis' b-sides is a sin. - Creep - My Iron Lung - High & Dry - Fake Plastic Trees - Just - Street Spirit - Paranoid Android - Karma Police - Lucky - No Surprises - There There - Jigsaw Falling In To Place - Bodysnatchers - Reckoner - The Daily Mail I can keep going.

I wouldn't say I hate radiohead because I dont really care about the band but I can't stand Thom Yorke's voice, it sounds like he's dying. Bit too depressing for me

Radiohead is a good band, the problem are their fanboys, sad lonely vaginas that never touched a girl and spend their lifes on a computer praising Radiohead and slagging off other bands on every music forums like rateyourmusic, sputnickmusic..., and some of them even created a popular website like Pitchfork, cos they don't have anything more to do.

Every fan base has a group like that. Take this forum, there are people on here who only like what Liam and Noel like and brandish all else as shit. Nature of the beast I suppose.

Radiohead are a good band, nothing to do with Oasis in my opinion, but still a good band, probably one of the best of the last 20 years,I'm not too fond of the Kid A/Amnesiac thing but I particulary like their sound on The Bends, that is one of my favourite records

The last year, Kid A has grown a lot on me, I find it much better than OK Computer. I still don't rate OK Computer that much to be honest, I think it's very good but I fail to see why it is rated as one of the greatest albums of all time.
They are a very very good band though, not my favourite but they can still release good tunes. They haven't made a decent record in ages though - King of Limbs I found very poor, with the exception of Codex though which is one of their best tunes ever.

I think you are forgetting "In Rainbows" from late 2007. I rank that as high as I do The Bends, Ok Computer and Kid A. It's a masterpiece. In my opinion, Kid A is the best thing the band has ever produced overall.

My opinion on In Rainbows is, likewise with OK Computer, it's very good but I don't necessarily think it justifies the massive hype. But when I talk about 'ages', I think 6 years is a long time in my book - I had just turned 17 when it was released and it seems longer than that! Barring In Rainbows, within that 7 year period, I only listen to Codex and The Daily Mail constantly - because they are brilliant.
I will admit, I like the more conventional aspect of those tunes and I think they cloud their songs too much in electronic blips and blops that just sound annoying, needless and off putting personally. For me, Codex is one of the most beautiul tunes ever written, and is in my top three Radiohead tunes. It's that bare bones approach which makes it so haunting, and no electronic bits and pieces can ever quite touch the soul like it, instead it would just ruin the mood and atmosphere of the tune. Again, likewise for How To Disappear Completely.

Kid A, the most overrated album of all time or the most overrated album of all time??
It's a good album, but in no way as great as Ok Computer, that song Kid A is boring as hell and Treefingers is just a noise which you barely hear, and some people even want to give explanations on why the song isn't bad and stuffs, all bullshit of course.
I get the impression that if Radiohead had wrote Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is it would have been hailed as a masterpiece, I don't doubt that.
I like Radiohead, but their pretentious stuffs are annoying, there is a difference between being experimental and being pretentious, it's good to experiment(the best thing about the band), but their pretentious stuffs like that song Fitter Happier, which almost ruinned a perfect album, but it's just a shit track.

I personally love Bloom, Seperator, Staircases, Supercollider, Morning Mr. Magpie and Little By Little from their last album cycle.

Haha Lennon2217 is a genius. I love Radiohead. OK Computer, The Bends, Kid A and In Rainbows are just fantastic. My favorite of them... I don't know, it depends on my mood. I can dig Amnesiac too, but it's not that great.

I can dig Amnesiac too, but it's not that great. Amnesiac is a step down from the classics we both mentioned. However, that album still flexes it's muscles: - "Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box" - "You and Whose Army?" - "Knieves Out" - "I Might Be Wrong" - "Like Spinning Plates" - "Life In A Glasshouse" Also the b-sides during this period were fantastic: - "Fog" - "Cuttooth" - "The Amazing Sounds of Orgy" - "Worrywort" The best song during this period didn't even appear on Kid A or Amnesiac. That song being "True Love Waits" which got the Neil Young/Hey Hey My My treatment of only existing as a live track on the I Might Be Wrong live EP.

Yeah, I'd put in a shout for another superb tune which never got an official release, and is heard in an early form, in a soundcheck, with people talking over the top in a montage sequence in Meeting People Is Easy, is the fabulous "Follow Me Around". The tune was 'around' this time and memorably performed on Mark Radcliffe Radio 1 afternoon show in a solo acoustic version in 2001. "Did you lie to us Tony?"... yes, yes he did... I guess the band felt the lyrics were a bit too on the nose and dogmatic for an actual release, but it has always been amongst my favourite ever Radiohead songs.

"Follow Me Around" is an excellent tune. Radiohead has some killer unreleased material. They could probably make another classic album if they recorded and released it all. Think songs like: - Big Boots (was supposed to be on The Avengers soundtrack in 1998) - Follow Me Around (an absolute gem) - Lift (was intended for Ok Computer) - I Froze Up (Kicking around since 2002) - Identikit (Recorded at Third Man Records in 2012) - Skirting On The Surface (my personal favorite of unreleased tunes) - Spooks (played live during 2006) - I Promise - Ful Stop - Cut A Hole - The Present Tense

I am much more partial to OK Computer and Hail to the Thief. Um, as for this, it's hard for me to say since I love so many different genres of music. I might go with the default answer though.

Kid A came out my freshman year of college. I took the plunge down the rabbit hole with the band. It was a great decision. It opened my ears to a lot of new sounds, bands, ideas, etc. It was a very exciting time for music.

Blur already did with 13 what Radiohead would do with Kid A next year, take out the singles from 13 and you would have a similar album in concept, Blur showed the way to Radiohead.

I don't think 13 had any impact on the members of Radiohead or Kid A. There are hardly any guitars on Kid A. It makes 13 sound like the Kings of Leon compared to Kid A. I like both albums but 13 is nowhere near the departure Radiohead went through.

I think it had, Thom is a Blur fan, he had heard the album at the time and thought about making a similar album, but with less guitars, I don't doubt that. But it isn't innovative btw, some bands already did this kind of sound before like Talk Talk and Slint, just to name a few.

It was a very important album for the band and influenced many many many bands since. If anything Ok Computer showed Blur the way to 13. Damon is very reactionary to what is going on around him. He's a chameleon of sound and I mean that as a compliment. Back to Radiohead, coming off the massive success of both The Bends and Ok Computer, Kid A really shocked the music world. Thom often says they needed to make that record if the band had any chance to survive longterm. He almost quit music at the end of the Ok Computer tour. Lucky for us he didn't.
