Finally got his album and listened to it yesterday. It's a good job for a 18 years old. His music is nothing new really. The whole album is mixture of Dylan, The Walker Brothers and The Coral, but still really good.
I just hope this storm called hype will calm down by the time when I see him next year.

Enjoying his album, first half more than the second, but I'm enjoying it well overall.

What I've heard of his album is pretty good. Still have yet to find it over here in the US but I've liked what I've heard so far. I saw him open for Noel/Snow Patrol concert and his voice & guitar playing were great! I think I said this before, but if he can get a band together or something, that would rock. I mean, by himself he's not bad, but maybe for his next album he'll want to go for more than just acoustic singer/songwriter style music. Not saying that's bad - I think he's great. I'm just saying, he's young and has a bright future ahead of him. Maybe he'll surprise us.

He makes me feel very old though!!

Heard the album last night...Pretty good album. I loved the second half of the album. The slower songs IMO were a bit better than the faster ones but that's not slacking them off. Very talented guy, I hope he sustains it.

Really like his album. He's got the musical maturity of someone who's been in the game a very long time and he chose the best of the best to be influenced by. Any artist would be proud of a track like "Simple As This".
That said, it will be really interesting to see how he follows this up. I hope the success doesn't go to his head and he doesnt listen to idiots that suggest what he should do musically.
I heard a rumor that Dave Matthews is trying to get him to open for him. That will ruin him. Don't do it, Jake!

The album is now out in North America on CD. Just picked up my copy yesterday. It's got a sticker on the front with a Noel quote "The future of music, he's like Bob Dylan mixed with Arctic Monkeys" or something like that. Wouldn't that make you want to pick that album up?

Just saw him at Eurosonic a couple of days ago and he was really good. Especially "Someone Told Me", "Slide", "Country Song" and "Simple As This" he's done acoustic on his own were brilliant. Looking forward to see him in March again.

For anyone that's interested: Jake will be on Conan tonight. I believe this is his US television debut.

I've not heard a single note of music from either Jake Bugg, Miles Kane or Jeff Wooton. Or Proud Mary.
I'd go on YouTube and check them out but I honestly can't be *fucked* with any of them. Maybe it's their names? Or the fact that Oasis fans seem to have taken a shine to them.
Maybe I'm wrong.
So it goes.

Miles Kane at least! - He did a song called My Fantasy with Noel on guitar & backing vocals. Have you never even heard this? He also covers the Beatles Hey Bulldog live which is worth a listen. Just get the album! Have you heard Paul Weller at least ffs?!

Miles Kane debut was very good thats thanks to co writing half his album with the Genuis of Alex Turner.

Jake Bugg is a novelty act. You see the bloke and think he is pretty normal, then he opens his mouth it that odd delivery and sound, and people are like "Well, that is different." It's alright, but staying power? I don't see it.
