Although I love him to bits and his songs are the soundtrack of my life I seem to feel he has gotten away with a lot of shit over the years.
Firstly the 'Aids' comment, I know he apologized (I think) but that was a totally scumbag thing to say, I don't care how pissed he was or how many drugs he was on, It was uncalled for. If I was Albarn or the other one I wouldn't want anything to do with him after that.
Then onto the Jay Z fiasco, I don't think Noel truly understood what he actually said that day, which let's be honest here was effectively that those Black people shouldn't be on stage at a White people's festival, unless they play guitars that is.
I've just listened to his interview before the Cardiff gig and he comes out with another stupid comment "No one in Oasis gave a shit about the fans". This is the shit i'm talking about. Utter nonsense, and don't say "At least he's been honest" because he's not.
The countless 'I'm the greatest aren't I' routine has gotten so old it's almost embarrassing now listening to him in interviews, the audience and interviewer seem to love it (for some reason) but I don't. He can be funny without that nonsense.
As I've said, Noel is actually a hero but his countless fuck ups in the media have left a lot to be desired.
Have a think before you open your mouth because you sound like an absolute tosser sometimes.
Over and out.

Yeah, he definitely wouldn't have said the same thing about Eminem.
You're an idiot.

But IMO that's the act, and lazy journalists now realise that after all these years how easy it is to feed him with the obligatory "So how about Jay Z at Glastonbury" or whoever knowing that he will 99 times out 100 say something outrageous.
If he just said, "Doesn't really interest me" or "It's not my cup of tea" but he has to be offensive, playing the game to get in the papers and more often than not it works.

Have a think before you open your mouth because you sound like an absolute tosser sometimes. Over and out. The aids thing was stupid and he was absolutely hammered in the press. There was essentially nothing wrong with his Jay-z comments mainly because he right in some ways. Haven't listened to it so can't confirm it but if true I'm Not sure he should be saying things like 'No one in Oasis gave a shit about the fans'. I'm happy for him to speak for himself but I'm not sure the others would go along with that. Bit disappointing that. The 'I'm the greatest aren't I' routine is very dull these day's mainly because its always carried off with a considerable amount of smugness.

Where d'you get that from. Jay Z plays rap music which sucks as pretty much all rap music does (IMO) and Noel didn't think it was right for him to play Glastonbury. Nothing to do with him being black, his music would be just as bad if he was white...

Personally I love all the "I am the greatest" stuff... I think it's classic Noel just like I love Liam for his quotes like the one last week "I don't need a black tie, I'm a f**ckin' rock star" quote which I think is classic Liam. Liam in my opinion is the true rock star through and through whilst Noel literally is the greatest after all the songs he's written he's earned that right to call himself that. Music needs more people like Noel not all these pop stars who pretend to be modest when really they can't get enough of themselves. Noel and Liam always said they were the only ones who wanted the biggest band in the world, they never wanted to be second best which I think is great

The way I look at it is this. The minute you say "Hip Hop shouldn't be allowed, it's wrong" the alarm bell starts ringing.

Saying that you don't want a rap artist to headline a traditionally guitar-based festival does not mean you are a racist. Think that not liking rap = not liking black people strikes me as more racist frankly. I don't like reggae...doesn't mean I don't like Jamaicans... I'd rather Noel stay how he is than turn into Chris Martin.

He never backtracked on that. Just said the reason that he doesn't think Jay-Z is right for the festival isn't because he thinks that Jay-Z is a bad artist. He said that he thought Jay-Z was a wrong booking for Glastonbury. He's entitled to his opinion. Assuming it has anything to do with race is totally out of line. The color of Jay-Z skin had absolutely no bearing on the reason Noel didn't think he should be headlining.

the AIDS comment was just wrong.
and let's be honest, it was always about the money and fame, so even though it is a pretty shit comment, I'm not that surprised Noel has said "No one in Oasis gave a shit about the fans".
like Mr Kite said, I wouldn't believe it either if they were saying they're coming back for the fans.

I've heard Noel get pissy in interviews when the reunion thing has been brought up before. I reckon he just got a bit angry this time and said that. I think the point he's making is that he doesn't see what the point of an Oasis reunion would be, and I agree with him. Especially for him.

Well they've never been that outspoken about their love for the fans. Which is fine. Money and fame on the other hand...
There's no point in lying about it is there?

How so? I don't see how thats so obviously true as you suggest. they said in many interviews they wanted to be the biggest band in the world. to me that translates to money and fame. yes, you need many fans to achieve that, but it doesn't feel like they cared much, or else they wouldn't leave the band mid tour because of stupid fights or because one of them was buying a house and all that. just pointing this lightly, I don't want to go back to the same old who's-to-blame argument
