It's like someone who has been on this forum for less than year, but feels the need to talk about someone who has been on for 7. LIB's been like this for a long time. And he's been a contributing member for a long time. I think he's earned the right to act how wants. That's my rule for anyone who has been on here for a minimum of 5 years. Well everyone except for NL4E. I wouldn't exactly say that (older guys have more of a right to act however they please) as that comes across as a bit elitist, but I get what you're saying. The contributors that have been here for a long time are here for a good reason - their posts are always interesting I find and get on with most folk. Like yourself, I find it rich how new members come on here and slag off the older members. I've no issue with guys like NL4E either - I've had arguments with him but he's never descended into full blown immature insults (so far!) like many others do (won't name anyone...), and I really respect that about him, despite me not agreeing with a lot of what he says! Yeah it does sound elitist. But you described what was I thinking. Thanks. But yeah, I have no problem with NL4E. I just like to poke fun at him.

It's strange how few people seem to have a sense of humor on here. I've been reading for a long time and with a very few exceptions, I've found it all to be informative, interesting and pretty funny to an Oasis geek like myself. I don't know why people are trying to slag off one poster and pump up another.
If you don't find the posts interesting or funny then don't read it. It's not hurting anyone, so just leave it be. I think the arguing is what gets these threads off topic worst of all, not the random posts from LIB et al.

Where's the relevance in that? Is the amount of time that he has been signed up to a forum mean that his opinion is more or less valid or that what he has to say means more or less than someone else? Because LIB may have been on here for six years but I have yet to see him say anything of any worth or substance whereas I have seen heathenchemistry02 make a lot of meaningful, interesting and valid points in the space of a month without being an annoyance. If LIB was funny I would be happily read his comments and appreciate them but the fact that they make me cringe and are not in the slightest way funny means that they are just pointless rubbish that rape and deter every thread and decent discussion. I believe his point was that a person who's been a member here for a few weeks shouldn't slag off someone who has been here for years. You must earn respect around here Exactly. Aye cheers for that deasy.

So getting back to the new track...
Well done to those who mixed the instrumental track with the soundtrack recording. I listened to the instrumental and its certainly interesting but its not much without the vox and guitar in there.
But I've got to say, I was more excited by the Roller (granted, this is not the final version). As much as Noel is a better songwriter, I'm equally interested in his output as Beady Eye's.

Someone who isn't a hardcore team Noel fan. I really like what Beady Eye are doing, it's different which I think is good. I've saw them live 3 times now and I'll see them again whenever I have the chance cause IMO, they are fuckin' great live. They really get the crowd going (well, in Scotland anyway!). I'm very excited for Noel's material as well though, as expected it'll be fantastic and I look forward watching him live!!

Alright so this is probably going to get me slated, but I don't really understand Noel's logic in saying that he picked the best songs at the time to put on each record...esp after the trouble he mentioned with writing again on SOTSOG. If "The Roller" was knocking about and he thought it was going to be a mega hit, why not take it past the demo stage and actually record it for an album?
Same goes for RM and STC. I understand that Liam left the DOYS sessions to get married and that that supposedly fucked up plans to put them on the last album, but I guess i'm just fuzzy on how/why he would choose not to pursue putting his best work on each album. I won't be buying that HHL is better than a finished RM or STC and songs like The Nature of Reality certainly aren't either.
Insights?

Oasis always had trouble picking songs to use, they were too close to them and lacked objectivity a little, i think.

Wow, how this thread has gotten off topic several times boggles the mind. In any case, I feel like it's digressed into an argument instigated by 6th graders. LIB is awesome. That is all. Moving on.....

I think NG is a great songwriter but a shit song-picker. I mean, he nearly didn't put Lyla on DBTT ffs. I'm sure that since Noel had a lot more time to pick/work on these that he'll have done a better job this time around. And if he hasn't, we'll get a handful of amazing B-sides at least. Seems like he's determined to get back to that this time around. I do wonder what will happen when he runs out of old songs again, though. It seems like most of the HFB tracks are older ones.

Beady Eye are enjoyable to listen to, but Noel gives me the wow factor with his tunes and that has always been the case. I wasn't wanting Noel's album to just be lumbering rock, I always wanted somethign more grand, expansive and mature sounding - the kitchen sink in other words. When Dig Out Your Soul didn't turn out to be like that, I was a bit disappointed. But this tune with the choir and strings just gave me a huge grin. It's what I've always wanted from the Oasis lads, so naturally I'm delighted.

I actually have come to really like the Oasis split (blasphemy, I know) because now we get to hear the heavier rock stuff that Liam always wanted to pound out and the more sophisticated (for lack of a better word) stuff that Noel wanted to try but never really did. The closest I think he came was on Falling Down, and if the album has a similar feel to that, I'll shit myself with excitement. The choir/strings on EOTR gave me the feeling that this album might just be that way. Seems like he pulled out all the stops. LIB, sure hope Noel's not going to be remixing Be Here Now on his second album!

Got to have something to take the edge off of having a baby crying around your house all night, right? And I think this album might be the first time since Be Here Now that Noel's really "gone for it" on an album. It'll be interesting to see what happens, but I can see there being a fair few "holy shit" moments on it...much like what happened when I heard the choir/strings for the first time today

From what I gather, this Let It Bleed fella seems like good guy, trapped behind a terribly gloomy name. I bet he'll be entertaining for years to come.
Or he'll die young. Not entirely sure.
