At the minute this is how the songs feel to me. To be fair, I haven't given Neon Noon a full go yet so that could change but all the others are pretty solid opinions.
Let's Roll Just Like We Used To 8.5/10 Days Are Forgotten 8/10 Goodbye Kiss 8.5/10 La Fée Verte 8.5/10 Velociraptor! 7/10 Acid Turkish Bath (Shelter From The Storm) 8/10 I Hear Voices 6.5/10 Re-wired 8.5/10 Man Of Simple Pleasures 8/10 Switchblade Smiles 6.5/10 Neon Noon 6/10
I was pleasantly surprised with how this record sounds. 80% of the tracks are the perfect mix of both well thought out melodies & verses and extremely catchy sing-a-long choruses, it will be appreciated equally in both a set of headphones or an arena/stadium.

Easily Kasabian's best album, and at the moment it's standing as a very strong candidate for album of 2011 for me....

Oh guys you are so sweet... This album is for me the Masterplan with C-Sides.... West Ryder was my number one album in 2009.... A great 5/10 for me with Velociraptor!... 2 years ago with a "concept" album : Underdog Where Did All the Love Go? Swarfiga Fast Fuse Take Aim Thick as Thieves West Ryder Silver Bullet Vlad the Impaler Ladies and Gentlemen, Roll the Dice Secret Alphabets Fire Happiness
And the outstanding "Julie and the Mothman"...
All those tracks were incredible... On Velociraptor... No one...

When I heard Liam saying Beady Eye album is better than Definetly Maybe, It's fun... But when I heard Tom or Serge saying Velociraptor is the best Kasabian album they ever made.... Damn.... Wowww...
A 8.5/10 for this album.... What a joke ! So West Ryder got 16/10 now.

May I ask why you hate the album so much Level 02? I've seen more fans of the band agreeing with Tom that it's their best than hating it, so you're certainly in the minority......

Not hating the new album... But... Nothing very awesome for me... Maybe the two singles are the great part of Velociraptor... I was expected so much more.... For me it's just a B-Sides compilation album... And ehhh Julie and the Mothman could be the main single on this album but it was just a b-side during west ryder in 2009...
Remember the first release of the last album "Vlad" and this ad with Underdog... Everyone here were crazy... You can read the last posts during the first Switchblade smile airplay and Days are forgotten... Mmmmmm... And the first review from the NME was right.

I would happily replace the song Velociraptor! with Julie & The Mothman.....but I love the rest of it I also think that Man Of Simple Pleasures would have fitted perfectly on West Ryder. It would have been one of the best tracks on the album then also imo

I think this album is a masterpiece, so different to West Ryder. Fuckin' diggin' this album big time !
Acid Turkish Bath is on repeat since I first heard it. Stand out track for me. I'd give this album a 9/10 with Neon Noon being the weakness at the moment.
Roll on Kasabian in Dublin !

Not sure if it's better than their last. It's more consistent but lacks the standout tracks that West Ryder had in spades. Also the title track is ridiculous, bit of a misstep including that on the album in my opinion.

Not gonna lie, this albums a bit of a disappointment for me. I'm not sayin' it's shit cos there are a good few songs on it that I really like but it just doesn't really have any songs that I'm in love with. West Ryder is a far better album by a mile imo.

Can anyone tell me when Kasabian became so popular in Eastern Europe? Over the last few days on youtube I have noticed many of the top rated comments being in Eastern European languages. For example, on the Days Are Forgotten video the current top rated comment is "ZAJEBISTE!", which (according to google tanslate) is the Polish for "Bitchin'". I also noticed a top rated comment on another video in Russian which said "Unbelievable song". I know that videos like Club Foot and stuff has Eastern European themes but I didn't realise they were also very popular over there

Also, I have listened to the album around 50 times now... I take a music tech course at college, so I get to! And I love it. And for all the slagging off of the actual Velociraptor! song, I would agree with it as an individual track, but it's a great break-up between LFV and ATB(SFTS)...

They've been dicking around in arenas and ignoring their American fans, there's no mystery in that. I suppose all is forgiven when they do tour, I know I'll be there!

I think Kasabian would do very well in the US, it fits with the type of alternative music Americans listen to. No idea why they don't bother with America......

I suppose it's hard to find motivation to go from headlining festivals like Isle of Wight and T in The Park etc in front of 80,000+ people to playing to 800 people in a club.

Almost finished my first listen of the entire album. I must say I think it's very good, but it's very different of how I expected it to be, and I don't think it was very wise of them to 'hype it' like they did, as now I understand if it would be a bit of a dissapointment if you hear it for the first time and you expect an album full of songs/anthems like 'Days Are Forgotten' and 'Velociraptor'. Still very good songs on it though! I really like Tom's voice. He also has one of those very typical voices & way of pronouncing words you recognise instantly. One of my favourite songs after a first listen would be 'Man Of Simple Pleasures'. 'La Fee verte' is very Beatles, not only the 'Lucy' reference but also the style of singing & recording. I really came to like 'Velociraptor' after hearing it live and I still like it on the album. And 'Swtichblade Smiles still is my least favourite song.

Yeah, Switchblade Smiles is very dull. I do like how it explodes, though, towards the end, but it's a very average/substandard song overall.

Arctic Monkeys played to a 800 person club the same year they headlined Glastonbury. A good bands takes both in stride. I think Lets Roll Like We Used To is one of my favorite songs of the year. It's glorious.

Nah, they dont have that problem. They've done it all the time in Europe. I saw them doing Wembley Oasis support and their arena tour in UK which were huge and then at 800-1200 people venues in Germany, and they gave everything they had at all gigs.
