Gave this song 6.5/10 on my first listen, then 7/10 on my second. Probably won't rise higher than that. Decent song that should've been better. Never set the song up for a large chorus, when you don't have a large chorus. Parts of it were good, but dodgy songwriting did it in.

It's just a standard ballad. I don't hear what's so great about it. I kept waiting for something great to come after reading the reviews, but it just plodded along.

Kept feeling like they were setting up for something big (like a great chorus), but it never came. So I found myself disappointed for the rest of the song. Unfortunately.

The opening lines sounds a little bit like 'Africa' by Toto. Fantastic song though.

Lyrically great. The "so long, so long" part is pure magic.

Listening to it again, it's not bad, but again...its just a standard ballad and it suffers from any real change in dynamic. Liam's voice has the same effect as For Anyone which i would guess is part tone/key correction because he probably can't hit some of these notes without using falsetto. I find that effect kind of annoying.
Anyone else hear Keep the Dream Alive in the intro and outro?

Listen to 1:15 - 1:35 again and tell me you don't get chills. tbh, not judging it on 20 seconds. For a song to be completely great, it has to have more than 20 seconds of greatness. imo In my ratings for each track, I put that it started off extremely well, but that BDI really did not follow the melody imo. It was a great building melody that kept building and building, but it never really turned into anything. The disappointment in it not turning into anything after the great verse and build up, is what knocked it down. For me.
