You have to think; what if this was on Heathen Chemistry? It wouldn't be much worse then SCYHO, LBL, HT and SB, and much better then the rest of the album. Best Gem tune so far, although I must say that it probably is the production that takes it to another level; because actually the chorus/melody isn't that strong imho. But the song as a whole is.

Does nobody think the album version might have a longer introduction?

THE ONLY REASON THIS SONG SEES THE LIGHT OF DAY,IS BECAUSE LIAM IS FRIENDLY WITH YOKO AND SHE WON'T SUE...THERE,I SAID IT....

I think it's great personally. Catchy song, nice hook and Liam's voice is the best it's sounded in ages. Love the way Liam sings the "everything is real" bit. Don't understand how this didn't make it on to an Oasis album. Noel really did make some poor song choices.

I absolutely LOVE this song. Best Beady Eye song so far, and I love them all. . including the amazing BTL.
I look at British charts and I cringe. . .Cheryl Cole. . .JLS. . .hideous other novelty acts. Now with Beady Eye , actual musicians are coming back to the front trying to prevail. Loving all the tunes.

It didn't make it to an Oasis album because this would be THE song everyone points to when they say Oasis rip off The Beatles. It's a good song and all, but the verse is Instant Karma. It's too much Lennon and not enough BEADY EYE. Four Letter Word sounds like a lost tune that would take a place on Nuggets compilations (good stuff right there), this one is just pleasant enough to be an alright tune. Nothing special at all, sorry Gem! (and that's a shame too cos I loved To Be Where There's Life)

True, but the sad thing is that this probably wont get much airplay (really hope it does), id love to see it in the top 10, i wish the bosses at radio 1 for example would just give a band with this sound a break and spin the tune all day long

(clearly gem's two best tunes so far ) ,, but i think it will be difficult to do that... because they are so different, diff sound, diff vibe

And my love for TBWTL explains why I like FLW, two driving tunes you know? Lots of energy in both of those tunes. I've got nothing wrong with a laid back tune like The Roller, just wish it didn't rip off Lennon so much! I'm the last person to criticize Oasis for stealing ideas, but at least those ideas were expanded upon. This is just put into a lesser context. But despite all of that, it's still an alright tune. I guess I just expected Gem to write more aggressive tunes? I'd give it a 6/10, perfectly competent; nothing more and nothing less. The guitar solo is stuck in my head though, best part of the tune! Can always rely on Gem for a great guitar part!

We ll I've managed to listen to it twice now...but only in the disabled toilets in work, with the volume on my iPhone down to minimum! Anyway i can't wait till later to crack up the volume and give it a proper go. From what I've managed to hear - I love it! I'm loving the different sounds of Beady Eye so far, and am really looking forward to the album. Liam's voice has really impressed me so far, he seems to have a bit more emotion in his delivery than we were used to in Oasis. Even with BTL in the 'Baby come on' outro, I liked the way that some of it sounded quite soulfull - not just Liam shouting 'Baby come on' (x 20)!
I don't get all this Instant Karma comparison though. It may have a vague similarity in certain parts, but I don't get people saying their that similar. Maybe its just me, but I don't hear it. Same with SOTEOTN - someone says it sounds like Get Back! I'm sure you can take ANY song and find another that has a bit that sounds a bit like it, but that doesn't mean they sound the same.

Can always rely on Gem for a great guitar part! yes!! exactly.......... yes, i agree lennon can go down along gem's name here but what i think is so fucking cool about this beady eye project so far is that liam is doing it right out in the open this time.... i'm talking about his musical 'influences' ;D .... from the artwork, to the riffs, to the lyrics, to his voice.... it's almost like he's paying tribute to all the bands he listened to growing up; world of twist, lennon, the who, the stones, etc. etc. .... yes you can call it 'ripping off' if you'd like.... but it's like he's throwing up two middle fingers to the critics and naysayers, no concealing at all this time and just doing his thing..... and I LOVE IT EDIT: and to the purists who are afraid to like this tune because it sounds too much like lennon, or any other tune because it sounds too much like this, or too much like that... at the end of the day, if it's a tune, it's a tune... this song is great man, just enjoy it for what it is...

As everyone else, I get the instant Karma feel, but it really doesn't bother me. Great for a sing-along, if Liam can pull it live (which I really am hopeful to, as someone said, this really sounds like Liam's true voice, which has not been tampered with too much), it'll be a monster, same with FLW. Was gonna post which songs I'm looking forward to, but just realized that all of the previews have potential IMO. Fingers crossed

After 3 listens (which are always enough),it's a good enough 7/10 for me....people who don't like it,they sure as hell don't like ''instant carma'',because they are pretty similar...that's the only bad thing for me,the fact that at least 50% of this was written 40 years ago and even then,it was seen as a pretty basic ''all you need is love'' type song, which was elevated by the great chorus..... Bottom line is that YOU HAVE TO LOVE THEM FOR BEING SO UNASHAMEDLY LENNONESQUE..... And another thing,as much as i love liam, the singing on ''instant karma'',is some of the best ever singing......... OBviously you can't deny sonic similarities between oasis, beady eye, the beatles. But if youre going to compare them quality wise, what's the point? Just enjoy it.. don't let it prevent you from liking the song. The chorus of the song is the original part, and that is probably the best part of the song. Ridiculously catchy! Like the old oasis songs makes me want to find the lyrics ASAP so i can sing along.

Damn it First of all i said that for me,it's a GOOD ENOUGH 7/10 and that i CAN'T HELP BUT LOVE THEM FOR BEING SO UNASHAMEDLY LENNONESQUE.... On the other hand, noel never wrote a COMPLETE LENNON-PASTICHE like this song is...personally speaking,i would love beady eye to continue writing these type of songs with THAT SOUND,because i ADORE THE BEATLES,just not so obvious...i honestly think that if liam wasn't friendly with yoko, this tune would never see the light of day..she would sue, simple as that....
