holding off a bit for proper judgement but it had me gripped from the beginning and is one of the best things i've heard in 2011 even if we are only a week in!

Average for me. Another shite guitar solo, I thought these guys were good musicians?
Very much a radio single, but considering they aren't looking for mass appeal then it just seems to be a waste of what could've been a great song. The core ingredients are there, it's got a great hook, decent lyrics and beat but it just doesn't go anywhere. Such a shame.
6/10 for me
FLW the best effort from BDI so far imo.

Sounds like 3 or 4 Beatles and Lennon songs thrown togheter, and Liam´s voice is again at "sound EXACTLY like Lennon mode" Not bad melody, but i don´t really like it

'the roller' is ok, not great. it might be my age, i dunno, but i've seen the bands and artists i grew up with pass their musical creative prime and that's alright, that's life.

This is their prime, if you look back. this is not their prime. it's not the nicest thing to say but i really don't think they had a prime. like someone else said, 'beady eye: better musicians, worse songwriters'.

After 3 listens (which are always enough),it's a good enough 7/10 for me....people who don't like it,they sure as hell don't like ''instant carma'',because they are pretty similar...that's the only bad thing for me,the fact that at least 50% of this was written 40 years ago and even then,it was seen as a pretty basic ''all you need is love'' type song, which was elevated by the great chorus.....
Bottom line is that YOU HAVE TO LOVE THEM FOR BEING SO UNASHAMEDLY LENNONESQUE.....

7.5... not bad at all, reminds me a little bit to "underneath the sky", dont know why... Nowhere near as good as Underneath the Sky imo. That's a truly underrated B-Side. To think, Noel used to cast tunes like that off as though they were ten-a-penny. Noel

I quite like it, but i cant help feeling that all the songs we've heard so far could have been a bit better, structurally and lyrically, for example
at the end , the repeating of the roller, the roller, the roller, is abit lazy
and on four letter word (which is a belter) the solo at the end is awful, and lyrics like 'feel like ive blown a 50 amp fuse aren't great)
I just get the impression if ole noel was still on board he'd be the one to look at it more critically and say what is working and whats not, overall though i am impressed just wished they'd tightened it up abit

The best track yet, and they've only gotten better. BTL sounded a lot like how I predicted Beady Eye to sound like. Not necessarily the type of sound that song has, but the quality of the song. I predicted pretty simple rocking tunes with not too many in depth lyrics. But FLW really made me think twice about this band, and now with The Roller, I think it's clear we can definitely expect some quality tracks from these guys. Can't wait.

hahaha shocker. Predictable. discworld's post 5.6/10 Glad you agree! As for the song, i'd give it a 7, decent enough. Can see why its the choice for the first single. Everything is looking pretty good so far for me.

its getting an 8 from me... its the best one I have heard from the album so far. I love it! a very radio friendly single and a very good choice. Probably wont have the same affect as Oasis singles had on the punters though as far as being big anthems. but as far as debut singes go, its great!
look forward to hearing the rest.
