Honestly. This is not me being Team Noel. If anything it's the criticism comes from a perspective that Liam was better than that. I have always liked Liam. I look @ what he has done with BDI and from the interview he has been really engaged in the whole process. That is the Liam I wanted him to be for Oasis. He was capable of it all along...but it was easy for him to sit in a corner and take pot-shots @ Noel than push for his views to be heard, acknowledged, and actualised. Noel would have fought against it because he is a stubborn, controlling, person...but he need to be pushed into letting some of his control go. He was never gonna give it up voluntarily...no one in power ever does. But it should have happened. With the contributions of the members being more even he should never have been able to maintain as much control as he did IMO. Frankly, I think the split was a good thing for them both. It'll probably benefit Liam more than we'll ever know. you should write an Oasis biography, or become a psychologist. Well Hello, my dear Let it Bleat... Hope you had a brilliant day and all the best!

Liam sometimes complained about Noel making all the decisions...but then it's not as if Liam seemed to be much of a viable alternative as he was in Oasis. If Noel didn't do it it didn't get done...that seems to be something we all seem agree on. Noel didn't book the studio time for Liam and sit with him while he recorded...so of course it didn't get done. As I recall on more than one occasion Liam and the rest of the band were the ones that booked the studio and did the demo'ing (w/ Johnny Marr if memory serves) and Noel joined them later. This happened w/ Heathen Chemistry. Liam was also the driving force behind the involvement with Death In Vegas for DBTT which unfortunately didn't pan out. You might also recall the DBTT video interviews where Dave Sardy commented that Liam would be the first one in the studio (before him even) every day loading the gear in. You might also remember comments after every single major tour ended the past 9 years where Liam stated he was ready to get back in the studio in a month or two but Noel wanted to take time off. Noel's comments often confirmed this. Liam left the DOYS sesssions for a weekend to get married. You want to tell me there was nothing else the band could work on in that 2 day period? They couldn't have tacked on an additional 2 days if Liam felt he needed to do more work? Did DOYS really suffer because Liam supposedly didn't record vocals on two songs out of a likely 30 or 40 that were being worked on at the time? No one is denying that until 2000, Noel handled the brunt of the publicly visible responsibilities. But you almost make it sound like Liam was incapable of breathing on his own until 2009 and that's just not true. At all. There is a preponderance of evidence to the contrary. So now that we've got a clearer picture of how the band worked in the studio, let's put the live shows in perspective. Liam misses the occasional gig due to his throat being shot. Sure, Liam should've cut down the drinking, drugs and smoking on tour but in the context of a worldwide tour that involves 100+ shows, 2 or 3 shows with throat problems is not unheard of. Any case, the show was generally rescheduled or Noel took over vocal duties for the night. There was of course the Germany incident, but the shows were in fact rescheduled. On the opposite end of the spectrum, Noel, after a drunken fight with Liam, abandons an entire tour and leaves the rest of the band to carry on while deciding to only come to UK stadium gigs. My god, how insulting to any fan outside of the UK. Were they not important enough to warrant Noel having to sit separately from Liam on whatever their mode of travel was? If he could put up with it for the UK gigs, there's no reason he couldn't have put up with it for the European gigs. If I were a fan with tickets to one of those shows, I'd have been furious. But ya know what, you didn't catch the rest of the band complaining. Gem learned all the parts in about 4 days, they rehearsed a new member in that same period, Liam did what he had to do and for the most part, the shows went on without a hitch. Are either of them perfect? No, not by any stretch of the imagination. But considering the crap they went through in their childhood with their father, the nonsense they've each put up with from the the media the past 17 years, the fact that they were able to make such great music together should really render most of these complaints moot. Warts and all, they had a pretty good run.

I honestly don't know who Noel thinks he is. Without Liam, Oasis would never have been famous. You do realize that Noel hasn't said anything about Liam and Oasis for about a year right? That's not entirely true though. While Liam has been the Gallagher that's been the most vocal in media about the other, Noel did have a go at Liam on one of the Teenage Cancer Trust shows back in last march. Something along the line of: "He's (Liam) probably off somewhere being a real northener, making the perfect desert boot". Can't remember which day he said it, but I think it was the thursday gig (Best one to in my opinion). Noel's definitely no saint here, and the same goes way more for Liam as well. But I think Noel is being the more smarter of the two now, and keeping shut about Liam. We'll see how things turn out when it nears Noel's album release and he starts doing interviews.

Fuck. That are some big posts. yes they are. it's best to skim them. and noel's off-handedly joked of liam several times in interviews. the whole breaking up of oasis is quite ridiculous and way over blown. who cares? life goes on.

Warts and all, they had a pretty good run. I am not saying that Noel is perfect. Neither am I saying Liam is faultless and everything is all Noels fault. Didn't Sardy say the whole band was there before him? Not just Liam? Fair enough though. Frankly I think after all this time we have talked this thing into a corner. Personally I was a bit disappointed in Liam every time he poked @ Noel or blame him for stuff...but then there never seemed to be any evidence that he had actively worked for any other outcome. It's like those annoying people the complain constantly about how things are going @ work...bit then when asked they either don't have an opinion of an alternative or they say that they knew it was the wrong thing to do all along but they didn't doing anything to remedy to situation. I just think that Noel was committed to Oasis during the recording of DOYS despite Liams assertions to the contrary. Noel has his flaws...his constant walk outs due to mental exhaustion are a black mark against him for certain. But during SOTSOG...seriously...the man did everything. He was the one that recorded all the instruments, brought in Gem and Andy, etc. Are you guys seriously saying that you don't think he put effort in? I am not saying that Noel never did moronic stuff over the years, just saying I don't believe Liam when he says that Noel was planning on leaving the band as far back as the record of DOYS. And I don't believe that Liam ever put more effort in than Noel. On his good days he did put in the same amount. But I still believe Noel work hard for Oasis...and Liam seemed to believe that to until the split.

Why would Noel leave songs that he wanted Liam to sing off the album in favor of keeping them for his own album? A great Liam song is not the same as a great Noel song. I like TSOLT but it would big measure less great sung by Noel. Same with TT, BIU, Lyla, CS, WW, SMS, GLIO, GP, RnRS...and basically all other Liam sung Oasis songs. Frankly if he left off songs that they had been planning for Liam to sing because he wanted to release them on his own album he was the worst kind of fool. BTW Headmaster...what kind of job do have where it is OK to leave work early when your work is unfinished. They are rock stars...but they are also adults. Just wish Liam would've acted like an adult. Wish Noel wouldn't acted more like a band leader and less like an annoyed brother. But unfortunately that was what Oasis was. Most of the problems in the band can be traced back to a combination of Liam acting juvenile and Noel acting like an annoyed older brother. Noel's version of Wonderwall is better than Liams.

Noel was 100% responsible for splitting Oasis up which is fine, if he didn't want to be in the band anymore then no problems just come out and say so but he couldn't, he had to pin the blame on Liam and use an arguement as an excuse as if it's the first fight they had in 18 years. Someone dig up the shit statement Noel put out confirming the split and I'm 99% sure he pretty much blames eveyone else, band members, management etc... and takes no responsibility himself. Wasn't there something about verbal intimidation?? because obviously a 40 odd year old man born and bread in Manchester hasn't come across that before.
Like I said if he wanted to leave the band then leave, come out and say I gave everything to Oasis for 18 years but I can't/don't want to do it anymore. Don't pass the buck onto everyone else.

... Liam tells rock magazine Mojo, "After some gigs there was no vibe, in the dressing room and that, it was like, 'F**king hell, here we go again, f**king nobody speaking'. I mean, when me and the lads were together we'd have a great time but then when the other one came in... f**king hell, it was like someone had been shot. "And that ain't fun... (In the studio) we had the little fella who was taking charge, doing his thing and I think he sort of hogged it a bit... But it had obviously got stuck in a rut, or it was moving that kind of way, and people don't like change... I guess I've got a bit more energy than our kid (Noel). He's grown up. The guy's writing songs for 50 year olds." www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/story/gallagher-accuses-brother-of-wrecking-oasis_1193614

I have a feeling that Noel probably has a similar story about that. Things being great until Liam showed up and then things getting strained
Wasn't it the DOYS tour that there was stories about Liam heading off from gigs before the feedback had stopped? I thought there was even an interview where he confirmed that with some pride. Noel, however, would stay after the gig and have it with the boys.

Hmm.. Interesting article from Mojo magazine. Too bad you never know when Liam is telling the truth. I do believe Liam in this case. I had the chance to watch the band very closely three days in a row in 2009 (during the brazillian tour) and Liam, Gem, Andy, Chris and Jay (along with Phil, their dj) were always together. And I must say, having a lot of fun! There was this brilliant night in Porto Alegre's hotel bar, there's even a video of Liam throwing himself into the fans outside the hotel. Noel was always alone! He wasn't even travelling together with the rest of them...

Hmm.. Interesting article from Mojo magazine. Too bad you never know when Liam is telling the truth. “In my experience of Liam Gallagher, he does tell the truth,” Mr McGee said of Liam's claims. I personally think Liam tells the truth a lot more then we think he does.. And if even MvGee (biggist Noel-lover I know ;p) say's it's true, I think we can be pretty sure it's true.

Granted, Liam wasn't attacked onstage by a "fan"...
