You can stream 'The Horrible Crowes' new album on SoundCloud now: soundcloud.com/sideonedummy/sets#It's very good! Very diverse! One of the better albums from 2011 I think. For those who do not know them, it's a side project of the singer from The Gaslight Anthem, but it's better

This is the album I'm most looking forward to, after Kasabian and Noel!
Black Box Revelation. Belgian rock band, trying to break America atm. They're new album is produced by Alain Johannes! And they're on the Letterman label!

M83's new album is really good. I prefer it over Washed Out's album for sure.

Listening to the new Beastie Boys album after not having played it for months. I forgot how good it is. It has to be up there with album of the year.
How good is this?

yea that is true I like the ones that are dominated by jagger more and have more of a rock feel to them, joss stone has a great voice as well. I like the Indian vibe but like you i reckon the reggae doesn't actually fit that well with the general vibe

Not gonna bother listening to that as I hate pretty much all the artists involved!

Is either going to be their best work of art in a long while or the turd that put them in the graveyard. Just 12 days to go! Yeah the worst thing since Metal Machine Music and St. Anger or Master Of Puppets and (insert some Lou Reed album here). I can see that in some reviews

From the more mainstream artists, I would say Arctic Monkeys have the best album from 2011. High hopes for Noel's record though - LOVED all the tunes so far (apart from Good Rebel).

I'm not going to repeat myself: Why does everyone want Noel's album to leak? I'm not with Iced Earth (though I have heard the title track and loved it)

I'm not with Iced Earth (though I have heard the title track and loved it) I dont want it to leak, but most who want it to do it so just wants to hear the newest material from Noel, while I want it to be released and then bought to be heard in my way back home and then in the house.

Just my opinion, but yeah it's a great album. One of the best of 2011 for sure.

I realize this quite a simplification, but Elsie is more or less an entire album of Here's Looking At You, Kid's and We Did It When We Were Young's. And while those songs are fine in the context of their respective albums, I need some songs like Great Expectations and The Spirit of Jazz to balance the two out. I'm glad this is separate from the Gaslight Anthem.

I'm glad this is separate from the Gaslight Anthem. Mary Ann, Behold The Hurricane, Crush, and Go Tell Everybody are definitely not hushed. I get what you're saying, but considering Here's Looking At You, Kid is one of my favorite Gaslight songs of all time (with 1930, Casanova, Baby! and Blue Jeans & White T-Shirts) I'm fine with the hushed vibe. Besides, supposedly Brian's already got the next Gaslight record written and they're going to record it this winter. So it's not like Elsie will throw Gaslight's release schedule out of balance. It's just an extra treat for those who like it.
