^Cheers for the info, Mimmi and matt. Cant find any mention of the Moons' 2nd album and Emvrace have just dropped off the face of the Earth, their website is baffling too. Trying to think of my most anticipated ones: NOEL! Arctic Monkeys Miles Kane The Enemy (?) The Zutons (?) Twisted Wheel The Moons Embrace (?) The Law (check 'em out if you havent) Brother Modern faces (hopefully will be doing an album, again check them out ) Steve Cradock Anyone else know of any more due out by similar bands to the ones posted above?

Let's add Los Campesinos to the list
According to Wiki: "The band have also announced that they are working on their 3rd album, to be released later in 2011."
What an awesome band. Can't wait. (And it's really their 4th, technically)

barnafin95, you're right, it's time The Law release their second album (c'mon, Steve!). TheImportance, I've seen Yuck at London Calling last November. "Georgia" (Georgina?) is a good song. I'm loving Submarine by Alex Turner too. I've bought 3 new albums past month, weeks - DGSS, "Nighingale" by Erland and The Carnival and "Bread and Circuses" by The View. I was going to see The Vaccins at London Calling in May, but they've cancelled as they're supporting Arctic Monkeys in the US. I'm curious how the debut album by The Crooks sounds like.

Thanks for the tips Importance, grabbing Zonoscope and Smith Westerns as I write... You've reminded me that I need to revisit the Bright Eyes album again, I only listened to it a couple of times when it was released... PS - you're wrong about the Radiohead album though!

Aye Mimmi, George is a good tune! They're opening for Tame Impala in April here, looking forward to seeing them for the second time and Yuck for the first time! And fair play Epiphone, it just never really connected with me. I'll give it another spin or two in the near future. To be fair, it wasn't a crushing disappointment like Bright Eyes was; even after seeing and hearing the new tunes live I can't dig them! I'm in the Cassadaga loving minority haha

I haven't listened to Cassadaga loads - but loved the Four Winds EP. Apparently The People's Key is their last album (?).
I've got tickets to see them here in UK in the summer, but it's looking increasingly like I'll be working overseas at the time. Would be a shame to miss them if this is their last tour!!!
Have you ever listened to Hope of the States - possibly an acquired taste, but if you're into the likes of Arcade Fire, you might like them. Start with their first album.

I'll be honest, whenever someone says something like "they sound like Arcade Fire" I try to avoid it because it never really captures me the same way as a Arcade Fire does! But, I'll give them a go, thanks for the recommendation! Is The Lost Riots their first album?
And Bright Eyes were pretty underwhelming live. I suppose that'd be great if you're a big fan of theirs, but I wasn't too impressed. Connor seemed tired and out of it, trying to put on a rock star persona and absolutely failing and it.

They don't *sound* like Arcade Fire as such, they just have big atmospheric soundscapes and guitars etc, a similar kind of lyrical themes... kind of post rock. Yeah, Lost Riots is their first. Their second is called Left. www.allmusic.com/album/the-lost-riots-r695648/review

Thanks for the recommending, barnafin95 I've never heard of 5 of them on your list, so gonna check them out. I'm seeing Erland and The Carnival and The View again in May. Really looking forward. Actually I got my ticket for Manics on the same day as ETC, but if ETC plays early in the evning, I'll sell my Manics ticket. A good friend of mine recommended Kassidy and Rachel Sermanni. She's a huge Kassidy fan and seen them both. Have you heard of Sparrow and The Workshop? They're an another fantastic band from Scotland.

Peter, Bjorn And John's new album seems to be good. Out any day now I think. If you haven't heard them, I recommend you to check them out. Great pop band with very great melodies. You've probably heard their song "Young Folks".
The last album was a disappointment, though.

if any of you guys like the xx check out The Weeknd-House of Balloons. Its like creepy, haunting R&B it probably isn't most of yalls cup of tea but its one my favorite records of the year. Also Destroyer's Kaputt album is superb. I'm gonna try and catch them live actually as well and the new Fleet Foxes album. Its been a great year for music already.

Just realized The Beastie Boys have an album this year too.
Jesus, this is a big big year for the established bands. It's like every big mainstream band is releasing an album this year. It's insane.

The Foos new album is pretty good, got some rockin' tunes on it. It still drags a bit for me, I'm not their biggest fan, but it has moments of brilliance. Dave Grohl is still one of the best all around musicians out there.
