U2 - (working title 'Songs From The Ascent - tracks - Mercy, Every Breaking Wave, North Star and Glastonbury are currently being played on their 360 Tour. All great songs. Better then the crap on the last U2 album. Apart from U2, then i'm not aware of much happening apart from these...... Beady Eye (not sure what to expect??) Noel Gallagher (hopefully next year) Ocean Colour SceneKasabian (hopefully they will play UK stadiums) Heard somewhere OCS are releasing a new album early next year, but wasnt sure if they meant the Mosely Shoals reissue or a new studio effort. If so, that'd be 4 albums (including 21) in less than 2 years theyre pretty prolific these days, you'd think they'd be slowing down a bit as theyre not exactly getting any younger

Jay-Z and Kanye West: Watch The Throne Don't really have high hopes for this considering how bad Jay's been recently but it's definitely one of the more intriguing things scheduled to be released soon. Anyway I can't believe people are already talking about 2011 when Ghost's Apollo Kids hasn't even dropped yet!

Jay's last album wasn't fantastic, but he still performs very well and, considering Kanye is peaking right now, I'm curious to see how the album turns out.

Just heard that Erland and The Carnival's second album will be released on 7th March. I'm really looking forward to it. They're fantastic.

I'm curious about Julian Lennon's album. It will be 12 years since he released his last album.
I cannot wait for Kasabian's upcoming album, although I hope it doesn't try to break the record of having the most filler songs on an album which they have already broken through West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum.
Beady Eye's album...I'm mad fer it!
Ian Brown should have an album out next year, he makes one once every few years.
I hope Noelly G releases an album, but it'll never be as good as Beady Eye's.
I read somewhere that The Rifles might be making an album next year.
If Paul Weller releases an album akin to Wake Up the Nation, I'll be a very happy man.

Do you listen to any music that doesn't have some vague connection to Oasis?

I'm looking forward to Elbow's new album. The Seldom Seen Kid was probably my favourite album of 2008. Erland Cooper is a very talented young musician/gentleman. I've discovered Erland and The Carnival at London Calling in April this year and they were brilliant live. Their debut album is fantastic. Really looking forward to hear their second album. Elbow's last album was one of my best albums of 2008 next to "The Midnight Organ Fight" by Frightened Rabbit. BTW, The Rifles are great. I can never get enough of listening to their "Great Escape".

Do you listen to any music that doesn't have some vague connection to Oasis? I can like any music I want to like. I don't care if you disapprove. Since I love Oasis, it's a very strong possibility that I'm going to like the bands that were influenced by Oasis, isn't it?

Do you listen to any music that doesn't have some vague connection to Oasis? Do you have to be a music snob? In a world where people take The Enemy seriously there are certainly worse things to be.

^ There's nothing wrong with The Enemy and nothing wrong with liking them either. I like them and they're really good live. When The Enemy are themselves, they're pretty decent (Away From Here, etc) But too often they try to be something they're not - a direct rip off of The Jam and other bands, like Pulp (Nation of Checkout Girls)
