Best as in most popular? Sure. Best musically? Album wise? They're rubbish now, no way they would be the best anything now. No, I meant that The Rolling Stones are the second best band ever, and unless John Lennon & George Harrison have been ressurected and The Beatles have reformed, then they're the greatest band in the world in a way. But it's true that they haven't made a half decent album since Steel Wheels in 1989, and then Tattoo You before that. If they haven't done anything good since 89, then they ain't the best band now. I'd argue that The Who are better, though that's another topic as they both haven't done anything good in some time.

www.nme.com/news/muse/48359The good news: Muse are returning to England next year. The bad news: tickets go on sale next Friday, and in all likelihood will have sold out by the time I can afford to get them, meaning that I'll have to fork out twice as much to buy from eBay, or Seatwave, or Viagogo, or wherever. Why must the bands I like continually insist on announcing gigs at the least opportune times?

These stadium gigs will be immense.
Wouldn't mind seeing them in London but it's a bit of a mission, so Old Trafford it is.

I really don't get this Muse hype. I can't see anything especially good with the group, although they are ok. I prefer Radiohead instead.

I stumble accross this the other day. This is just disgusting. I don't really like them anyway but words can't decribe how terrible this is.

Origin of Symmetry was really good but that latest album is dire. The most recent single from it (title track) just sounds like a lame rip-off of about 5 different Absolution songs (and it's one of the better things on the record)
Weird thread.

Muse is alright, they won't go to the hall of the greatest bands ever
to consider them the best band in the world right now just proves how much weak the 00's have been to music, specially when compared to the 90's, 80's and 60's

I've found a couple of brilliant, yet not well known bands. Been to lots, lots of gigs. I'm really enjoying and loving what I've found.

Plenty of marvelous, incredible bands out there, the 00s were fantastic and this year has had a lot of great releases already.

Of course that are a lot of great bands out there. Don't get me wrong. What I'm saying is that we didn't have this decade a powerful new band like Oasis in the 90's or U2 in the 80's. They really made a difference in the music scene.
Bands like Muse and Kasabian are good but not THAT good. My favorite band at the moment is Manic Street Preachers. They're from the 80's and very underrated imo.

You only see band like Oasis once in 10 year or so IMO. I do still love Oasis, they're still one of my life time bands next to The Smiths and The Jam. I also love Kasabian, BUT they're not my most favourite band. The bands what I most love and listen to are: Broken Records The Twilight Sad Erland and The Carnival Frightened Rabbit The National Mogwai They'll not be seen in the front cover of NME and Q, but it doesn't matter to me. I really don't care about it. As long as they keep creating brillant music like they're doing, I'm happy.

Bands can make a difference simply by existing and making good music, they don't need that constant marketing push. I mean, it'd be nice if fucking Arcade Fire or whatever sold a million records, but they still had a great impact on music without becoming hugely popular.

Not sure if they're the best, but they've been further from being the biggest! Personally, I love them, I've seen them live 3 times and it was amazing. And they're really cool and funny those boys. But I see that it has become more of a fashion to be a Muse fan, at least around here... nothing against that, although sometimes it does get on my nerves lol

I may be in a minority here, but I wouldn't even class Muse as average.
Can see their appeal though.
