What part is exactly great? The boring story line? The fact that the band doesn't appear at all, really? The fact that it's a contrived and unoriginal commentary on royalty? How the common viewer doesn't know what's going on until halfway through? That the non-Oasis fan wouldn't even be able to recognize who the band members were? That the video doesn't reflect not only the quality of the song but also the content? I stand by Oasis on most things. It's hard for me to criticize this band because I love them so much. But when they produce shit, I will call a spade a spade; and this FD video is indeed that spade. It's so incredibly bad and once again higlights the problem with Oasis' promitional department. No matter what your personal beliefs are regarding this video, ask yourself: "Will the non-Oasis fan understand the video? Will the understand who Oasis are? Will they associate and correlate the song to the video accuretly?" The answer to all that is NO, THEY WILL NOT. Thus, no matter what you, an Oasis fan, thinks, the video has failed. The video isn't made for the fans, it's made to garner more support from the general public, and this poor video wont mobilize any non-oasis fan, I'm sorry. Unbelievable how anyone in the Oasis camp thought this would be a good idea. If it wasn't anyone in the band, the person who made the decision to do this should be fired right now, what a fucker. You're such a goddamn tool.

NL4E should be in charge of all Oasis' videos from now on, he obviously has years of marketing experience in the music business. The people in the Oasis camp clearly don't know how to promote a band like Oasis.
/sarcasm over/

Its only a video, and to be honest Oasis videos are not the most exciting compared to other artists. However one thing I always like about their videos is that they are different to anything else out there and are usually outside the box.
The song is very spaced out and weird so a weird video kinda fits. Also the fact that it is not clear what's happening in the video makes you watch it again.

Just going to further alienate a lot of American fans. Nice. I doubt it since there isn't a lot of them to begin with

Not every fuckin person in the world should think like you [and think I don't have a right to express myself] I thought it was BAD. [And don't try to tell me I can't express my opinion as strongly as I want]

If I want to see a drama, I'll turn on the TV and watch a movie. Music videos should highlight the band and the song, if it tells a story at the same time then so be it - the two aren't mutually exclusive - but to only focus on the story misses the entire point of a music video It's so bad. I don't know if this is a shock to ya, but the band arn't making the video for you mate. And you are describing a template for video's that would utterly stifle their creativity. You should be able to do anything you want. I don't mind it tbf, they've done worse. I like the dig at the royal family/Diana.

Alright, I hated it at first (as I quoted LFE agreeing with him) but I've grown quite fond of it now. I think I hated it at first because it was certainly unexpected. But the more I watch it the more I love it. The theme of the video is amazing. And, don't overlook that last statement. IT HAS A THEME! It is actually a music video with some damn balls and some meaning to it, I know God for bid, right?
