NME News Oasis to debut royal-baiting 'Falling Down' video today (Feb 3) Film for new single takes aim at monarchy Oasis will debut the video for their new single 'Falling Down' at 5pm (GMT) today (February 3). The video will be able to watch at MySpace.com/oasis from 5pm. However, fans can get see an exclusive selection of video stills now at NME.COM/photos now. The clip will also be shown on Channel 4 at 11.35pm (GMT). The video was directed by Wiz, who as well as the Gallaghers has made videos for Massive Attack and Primal Scream. The 'Falling Down' promo mocks the British monarchy, cutting real footage of Prince Charles with footage showing the double life of a would-be royal. However a spokesperson for band explained that "the video is director Wiz’s vision and is not directly related to the song". They added: "Only Wiz knows what the story is but themes around fame, celebrity and secret lives are clearly part of his inspiration." To find out exactly what Wiz had in mind for the controversial new film, get this week's issue of NME, on UK newsstands tomorrow (February 4) for more pictures from the set and an exclusive interview with Wiz himself. 'Falling Down' is set to be released as a single on March 9.      |

This video is ABSOLUTE SHIT. I'm so disappointed. The band make 2 appearances lasting no more than a total of 3 seconds. And the couple clips of them are so uninteresting, not even with any instruments. This is by far one of the worst videos they've done.

I have to agree...it's a bad video...it's 4:58 to make us understand that Noel and Liam (because we don't see Gem and Andy in that bit) don't have any particular respect towards royalty because they're ordinary people...

Yes, your right. A David Lynch film would be more easier to understand than this video. Maybe she wasn't as happy as she thought she was going to be when she became a princess? I don't know...

Yeah, it's very Princess Di isn't it.
What was she doing on that council estate - is that where she used to live or was she just getting off her tits with her mates?
I don't think she's meant to be Prince Charles's girlfriend, just going out or married to one of the royals.
Bit of a lame idea for a video. The royal family isn't exactly a difficult target.
Suddenly the 'banker topping himself' idea seems great, can't remember who came up with that.

It's alright, I think it's defo meant to have referance to Princess Diana. The girl reminds me of her in the Lyla video, she had a tiara aswell!!
I have seen better video's though, doubt it's good enough to make any real impact, which is a shame cause the song is Shit-hot.
You cant tell me that Noel didnt have to OK this before the official release though.
