they dont show respect to the person which she is trying to be in public(princess di)...liam and noel never had respect to that "princess" di, to the person diana: yes, they had/have
its not a very exciting video, but its a nice storytelling video like a handful other oasisvideos(which are by far better than the "band" videos"...which reallly bore me to death....for that i have stageperfomances)

i was hoping for some mad psychedelic video .. with each member going through some sort of journey or process.
either way the video reminds me more of i'm outta time.. there is definitely potential but in the end it is undercooked.

Absolutely shite. Won't get played in nightclubs (too slow, no movement, no colour).
Even cameo shots of the band as sharetraders on the floor of the London stock exchange would have been better, incorporated into a video based around the world economy "falling down".
The one song on the album that had the potential to be a hit and they pretty wasted it by using it as a sort of "b-side" when the album was first launched.

Absolutely shite. Won't get played in nightclubs. You must have Oasis confused for Paul Oakenfold.

I liked it, although I must admit it did paint a very depressing light on the song

You people are going a tad bit crazy over a music video (btw, music videos DON'T MATTER anymore).
I'd rather see this than just the band playing... I thought this was a really interesting video... loved it when they wouldn't shake her hand, just shows again Oasis is the people's band.
Sure, it was a bit slow and I would have liked to see more of the boys, but it was still entertaining. People in the UK will probably get it and like it more.

I think it's one of their best. It's different. To many people here are of the opinion that "change is not good". If Radiohead did something like this everyone would love it. Hopefully it will stir up some contraversy and generate some interest around the song/album/band.
As for the idiots complaining that the band aren't in it enough, so what? What difference does that make? They've released many DVDS and there are countless videos of them on youtube that you can use to jack of to, if thats what you want

This achieved neither. Just a bland, boring, social commentary on the royal family, who's fallen by the wayside every year, so they're not even important enough to parody anymore, yet someone in the Oasis camp thought it would be a good idea. What an epic fail

Music videos today are made to put on the band's Myspace or Facebook page, or for people who want to hear the band's single on YouTube. The art of the music video is dead... we're lucky we got something this creative.

so many possibilities.... should have been a fan video with a contest and all. fans understand better oasis music that film directors I think nowadays everyone's trying too hard to make music videos. At first, I was like "What the hell?" when I saw the first few seconds but it is a pretty interesting video. Poor girl. She just wanted a handshake.

It's a great video if I do say myself. It's no IMOBI, but I still really like it.
It seems to me that they take the portrait of Princess Diana and how she was looked upon the royalty during the time she was with Prince Charles. Prince Charles was of course cheating on her, and I think she was doing the same thing? People didn't like her, and she was self-conscious about herself.
"Catch the wheel that breaks the butterfly," ~ Princess Diana died in that car crash.
"I cried the rain that fills the ocean wide," ~ She wasn't happy.
"I tried to talk with God to no avail, Calling him in and out of nowhere, Said if you won't save me, Please don't waste my time." ~ She died because of neglect, (saw this on a program the other day), basically they thought she was going to be okay because she wasn't really hurt, so they took the other people. The photographers found her, she was still breathing and they started snapping pictures and during that time she had a heart attack, and they had to stabilize her, she died in hospital. I guess this line would mean that even if she was saved, she'd still be hated by everyone and having to deal with her disorder, so there was no point on living. On another note, it could be the public saying that she served no purpose to the country because of her lack of knowledge and that she would be wasting the public's time.
"The summer sun, it blows my mind It's falling down on all that I've ever known Time will kiss the world goodbye Falling down on all that I've ever known Is all that I've ever known.
A dying scream makes no sound Calling out to all that I've ever known Here am I, lost and found Calling out to all." ~ Day in and day out, she is always having to deal with being a public figure, and doesn't have any privacy, it's the only thing she knows how to do. She attempted suicide many times during her marriage to Prince Charles, and she knows that whenever she dies, she'd still be in history for being associated with royalty.
"We live a dying dream If you know what I mean All that I've ever known It's all that I've ever known." ~ The monarchy is slowly losing power because it's losing the reputation of the people. She is living the dying dream, the dream being royalty.
I guess it could be about Camilla, because people don't want her to be queen, and don't like Price Charles because of it. The band are supposed to represent the highest form of royalty, kings that don't favor the prince's choice of partner, want her out, etc.
I'm looking too hard into it, LOL.

IOT vid is a bit lame, but at least I can see Liam, thats what makes it worth watching, when I see an oasis video I want to see OASIS..not some random girl that I could give nothing about! I am up for Oasis playing in a room again! I personally think that Stand By Me was the best Oasis video ever, this one doesn't hold a flame too it...Oasis aren't artsy, and they shouldn't be making artsy videos. But in saying that the bit with Oasis it in was great, very Beatles at the palace 1964, they look darn cute who would not be suprised if they broke out singing "Please please me" ? ;D

The art of the music video is dead... we're lucky we got something this creative. See, this is where YOU'RE wrong. The two concepts - putting the video on Myspace and it being creative - are by no means mutually exclusive! Fuck, it didn't even have to be creative; just show more of the band, ffs. TIOBI had a cooler story line, and the band appeared in it much more frequently and when they did they were as cool as fuck. I'm sorry, but FD is by far their worst music video. What's more, it such a great song, the general public won't pay attention to the video because of it's dullness and that's the real shame in all of this. Oasis fucked up this decision.
