TIOBI had a cooler story line, and the band appeared in it much more frequently. No, it had Rhys Ifans dancing about with a coffin, and the band were in it for a combined total of about two seconds. Still, I'm not implying that it wasn't good. I just think your logic is shite.

Wrong. You're thinking of music videos back in the day. Music videos today are made to put on the band's Myspace or Facebook page, or for people who want to hear the band's single on YouTube. The art of the music video is dead... we're lucky we got something this creative. See, this is where YOU'RE wrong. The two concepts - putting the video on Myspace and it being creative - are by no means mutually exclusive! Fuck, it didn't even have to be creative; just show more of the band, ffs. TIOBI had a cooler story line, and the band appeared in it much more frequently and when they did they were as cool as fuck. I'm sorry, but FD is by far their worst music video. What's more, it such a great song, the general public won't pay attention to the video because of it's dullness and that's the real shame in all of this. Oasis fucked up this decision. so now you wanna be in the band managment? please... I rather have this video with 2 seconds of the band's appearance than a ridiculous black & white cheap western with fake miming or 4 minutes of the guys pretending to play their instruments. If I wanna see them I'll see them live. it's a fuckin music video, it's tells a story, that's it, no need to overanalyze it

And you can't call this the worst Oasis vid ever... have you seen Acqueisce? (I think that's the one... with the Japanese people as the band...)

... It says in the NME article that this was all the director's vision.
I personally don't see what's so horrible about it. So it doesn't have the band in it for longer than a few seconds. I personally think Noel's five seconds of snubbing the woman are awesome. He looks great too.
Would rather watch this than the IOT video, at least stuff happens in this one.

It's a great video if I do say myself. It's no IMOBI, but I still really like it. It seems to me that they take the portrait of Princess Diana and how she was looked upon the royalty during the time she was with Prince Charles. Prince Charles was of course cheating on her, and I think she was doing the same thing? People didn't like her, and she was self-conscious about herself. "Catch the wheel that breaks the butterfly," ~ Princess Diana died in that car crash. "I cried the rain that fills the ocean wide," ~ She wasn't happy. "I tried to talk with God to no avail, Calling him in and out of nowhere, Said if you won't save me, Please don't waste my time." ~ She died because of neglect, (saw this on a program the other day), basically they thought she was going to be okay because she wasn't really hurt, so they took the other people. The photographers found her, she was still breathing and they started snapping pictures and during that time she had a heart attack, and they had to stabilize her, she died in hospital. I guess this line would mean that even if she was saved, she'd still be hated by everyone and having to deal with her disorder, so there was no point on living. On another note, it could be the public saying that she served no purpose to the country because of her lack of knowledge and that she would be wasting the public's time. "The summer sun, it blows my mind It's falling down on all that I've ever known Time will kiss the world goodbye Falling down on all that I've ever known Is all that I've ever known. A dying scream makes no sound Calling out to all that I've ever known Here am I, lost and found Calling out to all." ~ Day in and day out, she is always having to deal with being a public figure, and doesn't have any privacy, it's the only thing she knows how to do. She attempted suicide many times during her marriage to Prince Charles, and she knows that whenever she dies, she'd still be in history for being associated with royalty. "We live a dying dream If you know what I mean All that I've ever known It's all that I've ever known." ~ The monarchy is slowly losing power because it's losing the reputation of the people. She is living the dying dream, the dream being royalty. I guess it could be about Camilla, because people don't want her to be queen, and don't like Price Charles because of it. The band are supposed to represent the highest form of royalty, kings that don't favor the prince's choice of partner, want her out, etc. I'm looking too hard into it, LOL. yes but the song is NOT about her, its about the sunsets Noel can see out his back garden, this video makes it more depressing then I think Noel ever intended. IOT vid is a bit lame, but at least I can see Liam, thats what makes it worth watching, when I see an oasis video I want to see OASIS..not some random girl that I could give nothing about! I am up for Oasis playing in a room again! I personally think that Stand By Me was the best Oasis video ever, this one doesn't hold a flame too it...Oasis aren't artsy, and they shouldn't be making artsy videos. But in saying that the bit with Oasis it in was great, very Beatles at the palace 1964, they look darn cute who would not be suprised if they broke out singing "Please please me" ? ;D i wish they were covering please please me, then there would have been a reason to watch

It was shit. Had a good laugh from that look Liam gave her though. i was hoping for some mad psychedelic video .. with each member going through some sort of journey or process. either way the video reminds me more of i'm outta time.. there is definitely potential but in the end it is undercooked. This is what it should of been. Just some mental, crazy as fuck psychedelic video.

I actually a lot it was very artistic and had good double meaning. I mean anything else would have been predictable as a video. I like Oasis going out on a limb on this video. I like how the woman even though she is rich and famous she still get no respects from the people and she doesn't really respect herself. The video connects well with the songs and gives a new dimension and meaning. It certainly was not the best video I've ever seen, but its not their worst. Great videos are made by great songs.

Who Feels Love. d'you know what I mean? Champagne Supernova, Don't look back in Anger (Us version) don't have much of a story line, are you saying these are shit videos? If you were brand new to Oasis, and just saw this video after liking the song, would you know who oasis was after watching this? Would it turn you on to them? I am not saying either way, I am wondering..thats the question, cos its easy to say I'll go see them live when you have 13,000 odd posts on Oasis forum....but then again do Oasis really need new fans?

Hmmm ! Was really looking forward to it but was disappointed, granted its only a video but to me its superb when every new Oasis video comes out, got fond memories of seeing many other past ones for the first time.
When the band are shown, who is the ugly f*cker with the long hair in the middle with the rest of the band ?

SBM, MG, CS, DLBIA, DYKWIM... that was a different time when videos were meant to be on MTV to promote the band. yes, they have the band, but mostly they do something else rather than mime the words and pretend to play. my point is, you don't need to feature the band that much if you have a good concept. and if I'm new to the band and liked the song or looked at the video I would do what I did 14 years ago and investigate about the band because if I waited for airplay on the radio or for them to be on TV 24/7 I would have never become a fan and wouldn't be here with 13000 odd posts

Whoever said Noel and Liam are supposed to represent royalty missed the point. The rest of what you said is fine. They are sons of Irish people and vote labour. They detest the monarchy, they're not part of it. The monarchy does nothing for the working classes and (or anybody) that's why Noel won't acknowledge her.

I know when I got into the band 13 years ago is was the due to the Champagne Supernova video. I know for me it was the way Oasis’ looked AND sounded to make them appeal to me. You can’t count on all kids taking an initiative and investigating like you did 14 years ago.. I understand what your saying about a good concept...the shock was a good concept.. Imo this is not a good concept. It just doesn’t make me feel excited about the band like the shock did.

I also got into oasis after watching a music video, but it was mainly because I liked the song. I hardly get into bands now by watching a music video. maybe that's just me. I personally couldn't care less if kids like to listen to britney, madonna, some shitty rapper or the current american idol. maybe they should be bright enough to see which type of music is good and which one is meant for massive consuming, IMHO

It's a great video, it's very deep and thoughtful. There's a lot more to it than The Shock Of The Lightning and I'm Outta time, it's more of a story which I think is better.
