i had morning glory after wonderwall. always loved the album. but the with familiar to millions i suddenly understood what oasis was about. and this is still the best tour ever, in my opinion.
just a sidenote: on a german music-website familiar to millions got a review that was intended to be a harsh criticism. it said (poorly translated into english) that this entire album was a huge 'kiss my ass'. to me that's the best decription of what oasis as a band and rock'n roll means to me.

FFS, every Oasis album does NOT mark an "era" Rather, Oasis can be split into 3 eras: 1994-1999: Britpop, Their Glory Days, etc -> Albums: DM, WTSMG, BHN 1999-2004: Uninspired Period, new band members (andy, gem), fall from fame, etc --> Albums: SOTSOG, HC 2005-Present: Back to form, More mature and focused --> Albums: DBTT, DOYS can you say Wikipedia

I bought (What's The Story) Morning Glory?, Be Here Now and Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants on the same day (I was feeling a bit flash) it was 2000 and I've just come into some money.. I do remember being round my cousins house when I was younger though and he was blaring out Definitely Maybe.. thought it was cool at the time.

This is a decent poll, and each album does mark an era! DM - The new fresh sound, the beginning (WTS)MG - The Follow up success, launching them to be one of the biggest bands in the world to this day BHN - If ya werent around during this, you wont know the half of it SOTSOG - New members, change HC - Can they get back on form/pick up new fans... DBTT/DOYS are the only two you can tag together (WTS)MG was the era I fell in love with Oasis, was 11 or 12 and started to devolope my tase in music and Oasis were my band and still are

Hmmmm, I'm a newbie so I would have to say the DOYS era. Wow, I have a lot of catching up to do. I feel so lost...

HC era, I saw SCYHO on the internet and thought this is great. After it I started to listen to the Oasis albums floating around in our home back then and I found out that Be Here Now was the best. xd

First songs I remember were Fags & Booze & Slide Away,Just before Morning Glory came out. My 1st gig was Jan/Feb 1995. I have always been a classic rock fan & have been converted ever since. What a time I was 16 at the time.
There are alot of Newbies on here, maybe britpop wasnt as big in the states.

Yeah, there are a lot of people into Oasis in North America, but not many who are diehard fans from back in the day

I became a fan when Morning Glory came out, 1995. Britpop & Oasis, Oasis & Britpop were all around. Glorious days.

Your lucky. I got in to Oasis around December 94, my mate got Whatever on tape and I loved Good to be free, then I liked whatever. When I got thrown out of collage I used my book deposit money to purchase all the previous sinles (there was an offer on 2 for £5) and that was it....The best £10 I ever spent, some outstanding tunes on those singles

I got in Oasis round 2005. Then I was hooked with DBTT singles, especially Let there be love.

My dad was a fan of Oasis and I didn't know much about them. I was on iTunes previewing DBTT before it came out and this was soon after I fell in love with the Beatles. I bought the album and my dad and I sat in the living room and listened to the whole album. We were both blown away at how great it was and still is.
