So that we don't have a poop load of different threads about negative first opinions of the album, please try to post your general negative thoughts, if any, about the songs in here.
Please don't go ape if someone has an opinion which goes against yours.
Discuss.

I like the Shriners. I like their hats. I don't see what that has to do with DOYS.

Well as far as negative goes...
I really don't like TBWTL... Sounds fuckin' hippy to me and boring... Stupid title as well... Not crazy about GOYHHL but it still better than the previous...
All the rest is either very good, good or ok so no complaints...

I'm not too happy with TBWTL, Soldier On, and TNOR. All others are GREAT. Bag it up and Rapture should be the 3rd and 4th singles. AGN not bad at all, as I expected, with studio additions.

Mates, fellow oasis fans, there is no greater and passionate fan than i, who understands that no single artist over the last 30 years has the incredible, jaw dropping, and down right brilliant catalog that Sir Noel Gallagher has displayed for us over the last 14years.The bands 1st 4 albums, including a B-Sides album in 'The Masterplan', which, by the way may be the best of them all!, were down right other-worldy, not to mention the post 2000 B-Side catalog that the genius has provided for our undeserving ears. However, i am one who, no matter how much love and affection i have for the man, and the band, cannot sit here and lie about this new album. How is it possible, that the greatest lyricist, musician, vocalist, and mind of our age, who undoubtedly still has many captivating, tear flowing, heart wrenching and simply heavenly songs in his reserves,(Stop The Clocks, IWLIADream)that he can literally bring himself down to such a level. His lyrics on this album, and i never thought i would say this, are liam like!, possibly, no probably, even worse. It is almost as if he indeed did "Dig Out His Soul', and sold it to the devil himself, and this is all he could come up with after doing so. I will never take for granted what he has delivered to my heart, my mind, and my life with his awe-inspiring words, his spellbinding guitar riffs, or his angelic voice, but ladies..gents i leave you with, not an opinion, but a sad, sad truth. Dig Out Your Soul= SHIT!

^^ funny then that your username is named after a song off it.
anyway, it sounds really good to me after a couple run-throughs. i'll have a better idea what i think of it in a few years time lol. but for now, no complaints about tracks 1-4, i'm outta time could use a bridge, falling down's breakdown could be more exciting, the nature of reality sounds like fucking metallica, and soldier on could use more adventurousness in its outro. can't help but think death in vegas should've produced/co-written that one. anyhoo, all in all, i'm very impressed. noel clearly flipped the 'eclectic' switch for this album and for that i am thankful. i'm glad they're trying new things and stepping outside of the box. excellent production as well. alright, that's enough positivity for a negative thread...

I've listened to it 3 times and I gotta say I'm disappointed. Falling Down is the only track I really really like. The first 3 are good, but the rest of the songs just seem to go nowhere. The production is good, but the songs aren't there.

High Horse would be better with Liam on lead and Noel on back up vocals in my opinion. Not a big fan of the tinny production on it either.
The last three songs on the album are poor and go nowhere.
TSOTL could do with a chorus.
Other than that it's a great album.

it's an indie record. the production is fantastic (no chaos from sardy this time like on keep the dream alive) and so are zak's drums! anyone who's still doubting him should put duct tape on his mouth and communicate via sign language from now on. liam's voice sounds brilliant at times and yet in some parts he falls back into his nasal shtick from DBTT & HC...well it's liam 2k what can you do..
what it shares with HC that there are brilliant songs on it along with b-side material and absolute cringeworthy efforts here and there. day and night.
overall it's not as good as DBTT IMO which was very consistent at least. no real letdown, maybe mucky fingers.

I agree with whoever said that this album would be better with all Noel-written songs, and I'm Outta Time. He's just the best songwriter, simple as that. He has songs right now that are better than To Be Where There's Life and Ain't Got Nothin', it's just fact.

He always says that Standing on The Shoulder of Giants came out during a very uninspired time. If he writes songs like Who Feels Love when he's uninspired, then bugger me.

Hmm. Must say I'm really disappointed in this album. I feel some of the production has an almost demo-y feel about it and that quite a lot of the tracks (whisper it quietly) just aren't very good! I'm disappointed they've put on stuff like Soldier On, High Horse Lady and To Be Where There's Life and left off Stop the Clocks, which IMHO is clearly superior. I don't like the sound on the album - it's too timid for me - and it rips off the Beatles way, way too much. Most of the lyrics seem quite hastily put-together (ie. crap) and, Falling Down (which is by far the best thing on the album btw) apart, I feel the band have really stayed in their comfort zone. Soldier On and I'm Outta Time in particular seem to me to be decent ideas that haven't been developed properly into fully-fledged songs. I'm a big, big Oasis fan but I've got to say I'm really disappointed after the first listen. I just don't think the album is very good.

Andy and Gem should just be left to write the b-sides.

What a bunch of braindead tards, Get off your highhorse lady is amazing, and so is Soldier on. Sure Stop the clocks and Record machine are both great tunes, but imo they just didn't fit the album. They'd be more suited on Dont' believe the truth, but DOYS is experimental wether you want to believe it or not, and if you're looking for something different (IE: DBTT, Morning Glory) you'll be dissapointed.
