some people are totally missing the point with this album, its a mature groovy rock n roll album, the songs arent meant to go to great choruses an massive heartfelt songs, these songs fuckin rock.TNOR is a fookin stomper andys best song for the band, there aint a bad track on the album, get off ya high horse wouldnt sound right with liam on it,that song breaks up the mould totally. only oasis could release an album like this with tracks like high horse on it,nobody can say again that they havent evolved, theyve evolved into the best band in the world again by far with this album, its a totally different souonding album to anything weve heard in absolute years,a stomper of an album.the only let down is they took some of the guitars off of nothing on me,its not as heavy.how about liams voice aswell?quality an totally different again on some the songs ,an please people dont give us the nonsense its studio magic,it aint!!there are no negatives to this album.want proof??TURN THE FUCKER UP AS LOUD AS YOU CAN AN SIT BACK WITH A CAN AN LISTEN.

Andy and Gem should just be left to write the b-sides. Nah, Liam and Gem should deliver b-sides. TNOR is a corker

It was me that said Noel should write all the songs, do you guys ever think thatr will happen on future albums again? or has he let it go too far with letting the other contribute?

It was me that said Noel should write all the songs, do you guys ever think thatr will happen on future albums again? or has he let it go too far with letting the other contribute? I think he really wants Oasis to work as a group, with four people delivering songs (and, of course, he having the last word). He will write all the songs on an album the they he will do a solo album, maybe.

I do prefer it to DBTT, my point was that future albums should be all noel written or more realistically 1 from liam and 1 from gem,
I do beleive that he has got it in him to write an absolute blinding album that could rival the first two, i just wish someone would tell him, sara maybe?

It's definitely different - just not sure if it's a good different yet.
Noel sure was right when he said there were no singles on it!
Have listened to it about three times all the way through now and the only thing that bothers me is the lack of stone cold hooks that Noel's songs have always (with a few exceptions) had in the past.

Mates, fellow oasis fans, there is no greater and passionate fan than i, who understands that no single artist over the last 30 years has the incredible, jaw dropping, and down right brilliant catalog that Sir Noel Gallagher has displayed for us over the last 14years.The bands 1st 4 albums, including a B-Sides album in 'The Masterplan', which, by the way may be the best of them all!, were down right other-worldy, not to mention the post 2000 B-Side catalog that the genius has provided for our undeserving ears. However, i am one who, no matter how much love and affection i have for the man, and the band, cannot sit here and lie about this new album. How is it possible, that the greatest lyricist, musician, vocalist, and mind of our age, who undoubtedly still has many captivating, tear flowing, heart wrenching and simply heavenly songs in his reserves,(Stop The Clocks, IWLIADream)that he can literally bring himself down to such a level. His lyrics on this album, and i never thought i would say this, are liam like!, possibly, no probably, even worse. It is almost as if he indeed did "Dig Out His Soul', and sold it to the devil himself, and this is all he could come up with after doing so. I will never take for granted what he has delivered to my heart, my mind, and my life with his awe-inspiring words, his spellbinding guitar riffs, or his angelic voice, but ladies..gents i leave you with, not an opinion, but a sad, sad truth. Dig Out Your Soul= SHIT! couldn´t agree more......sadly!

it's very different. it's just kinda the same level for most the album. it's really like a mid 60's beatles album. i dunno, kinda like white album but only one half of it. i wonder when Oasis will do a double album. you know they'll want to.

my Dig Out Your Soul track list:
1 Bag It Up
2 The Turning
3 I Wanna Live In a Dream (In My Record Machine) Waiting For The Rapture
4 The Shock Of The Lightning
5 I'm Outta Time
6 Lord Don´t Slow Me Down (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady
7 Falling Down
8 To Be Where There's Life
9 Stop The Clocks Ain't Got Nothin
10 The Nature Of Reality
11 Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders Soldier On
I wouldnt have cared if it was full of songs id already heard as long as i would get a solid "you gotta listen to all of it" kind of record. instead we got a mediocre b-side compilation with Out of Time attached to it which imo is definitely the only reason worth buying this album...
As far as im concerned this is the way dig out your soul was released and thats how its staying!

i would love to go through all the demos he has got lying around at home, i bet due to his tendancy to leave off great songs you would be able to put a masterpiece of an album together

overall, i think it's a good album. there's only the last three songs that I don't like too much. they're okay, not bad, not good. but i noticed something. the first half of the cd is almost all written by noel but the other half, only falling down has been written by noel and the second half, espescially the last 3 songs, is the weakest of the two.
i would have love to have NOR as a b-side, or SO and AGN, but ffs, can we just put noel's songs on the album, and some by liam and maybe some by gem (TBWTL is good, i love the groove.) but instead of the last three songs written by liam and andy, put 3 songs written by noel and it think we've got a real masterpiece.
just my opinion.

I wish TBWTL had guitars. I wish Soldier On had a chorus. I wish Soldier On didn't have that echo effect. I wish GOYHHL was more rocking. I wish The Turning's guitar solo was a little longer.

I don't have anything negative to say. I'm a bit surprised by the negativity really. To me this is a far better album than I expected. It's Oasis doing something new and exciting. They are finally going out of their comfort zone and it pays off big time. The production, arrangements, and songwriting are adventurous.
I'm also surprised to hear people bagging on what I think are some of the highlights like High Horse Lady and To Be Where There's Life & The Nature Of Reality... These are some of the songs that gave me CHILLS. I think there's some folks here who have a very small idea of what songs can be... Not every song has to be about sing along choruses.
