Who here would be happy?
I'd be very disappointed...

Me too.
I can't imagine it being like that though. Noel pointed out the contrasts very early on.

Disappointed too, and judging by the sound of things it wouldn't have a flagwaver to save it

The thing that gets me scared is the 20 second clip on TSOTL. It sounds a bit like the ending to Lyla.
Not this again

I think this Don't Believe The Truth, Dig Out Your Soul link doesn't really relate. What has been implied is that DOYS shows continuity in terms of quality from DBTT (because some critics perceive DBTT as something of a return to form or some kind of testament to new-found stability within the group).
I don't think anyone has compared the feel or the sound of the album to DBTT at all.

anthmcc speaks the truth. The album was supposed to be DBTT part 2, but Noel said these songs sounded more like B-Sides to him. So he wrote these new groove based songs. He has actually said it's not like DBTT as it was "Songy" and had a "60's Retro feel, TIOBI, LTBL" whilst this album is not like that.
The Shock Of The Lightning is the most oasisy (yea, that's not a word) song on the album. The others are different.

Disappointed too, and judging by the sound of things it wouldn't have a flagwaver to save it Are you referring to Let There Be Love? Ya, i know it aint their best but come on, first time you heard the noel vocal bit it was just mega. It's weird some days i'm so excited about this album, that i believe it will be a world-wide mega hit. Then other days i'm excited but wary as talk of mucky fingers like tunes being on it surfaces. I think there will be great songs on it but i'm worried about the 'filler'. If DOYS is HC part2... Ho

i can confirm that falling down is much much different then the chem bros remix(obviously its not an oasis dance song on the album)
but its much, much slower and the piano is in the song
