I've never watched this one (the first three were great), but I agree with you Matt re CGI. Can't stand it. Can't stand all these Marvel/superhero films that seem to be released on a weekly basis too. Utter shite.

Very lazy concept, never been a fan of Marvel comics at all (was more of a Beano kid). I'd rather watch a film of Bananaman.

Ancient thread. The villain could have been better. I suppose Cate Blanchett did fine, but, I don't think they should have went the German villain route...again... that ending with her in the alien throne room was sort of bizarre too. However if I had to rate the films, I'd say: 1. Last Crusade 2. Raiders 3. Crystal Skull 4. Temple of Doom She's Russian not German. TOD is not the best of the 4 (Raiders and Crusade are) but it's my favorite. I was seven when it came out and besides E.T. it's one of the first movies I remember seeing in the theater. I wished I was Short Round so I could go on adventures w/ Indy. It's a little cartoony (voodoo dolls & falling from the plane and surviving) but it was everything 7 yr old me wanted from a movie.

CGI can be lazy (Transformers, Amazing Spiderman 2)but when it's used correctly it can be very effective. I enjoy movies with practical effects like Inception and the Dark Knight but not all CGI is bad. Guardians of the Galaxy(my favorite film of the yr) and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes uses CGI to create creatures that never could have existed on screen otherwise and they look great. You believe a talking raccoon and tree are best friends and a community of talking apes exist. Beano is a gas medicine in the states so I have no idea what it is but the new Captain America film was very good too. Its more of a spy thriller than a comic book film. Doesnt have much CGI until the ending.

Oh, It's been awhile since I've seen it, but that's refreshing to learn. Scratch what I said then about her character. Temple of Doom is good for sure. I don't even know why I rate it last. Maybe it's just the least entertaining for me.

Temple of Doom is definitely underrated and very dark. That's probably why it turns some people off. It's still an extremely entertaining and at times hilarious action-adventure film. I watch it whenever I see it on cable despite owning it on blu ray!

I always felt bad for Wu Han. Indy gets over his death pretty quick and I don't believe he tells Short Round. "I've followed you on many adventures...but into the great unknown mystery, I go first, Indy!" I like how it's a prequel to Raiders but it doesn't need to be.

George Lucas should do us all a favor and repeat what he did with the Star Wars Christmas Special. Buy up every copy and burn them. I think he also attempted this with Howard The Duck.

I think some clips are on YouTube but they don't last long. I've seen the special, it fucking sucks.

The original version was so much better. It doesn't even make sense that Hayden ghost would appear. He died an old man just like Obi-Wan.

There's a quote attributed to him about wanting to smash every copy of the Holiday Special in existence but he didn't actually do that. He never let it air on TV again and the only copies outside of Lucasfilm that exist are bootlegs. You can get them quite cheaply on ebay. www.ebay.ie/itm/Star-Wars-Holiday-Special-dvd-super-rare-/141416034704?pt=UK_CDsDVDs_DVDs_DVDs_GL&hash=item20ed0d7190The whole thing is very easy to obtain online though. It isn't worth the small amount of effort to find it though.

Well pre Internet, Lucas did a great job of stopping that video from ever airing again. Nah, it was widely available at conventions. Under the table maybe but I know lots of people who were able to get copies of it back in the day. I mean, you couldn't walk into a shop and buy it because it never had an official home video release but if you wanted it you could get it relatively easy stateside.

I went into a shop to buy the Indiana Jones 4 film, somebody asked me what it was, I panicked, quickly went on the defensive and said it was a porno.

I think having anyone other than Harrison Ford in the role is sacrilege, but if I was forced to choose a new Indy, it would be Bradley Cooper.

I've heard that Ford wanted an 5th Indy movie in order to do more Star Wars (he doesn't like Han Solo that much).
