Is 1997 the last time the clear underdog won the final? Porto's win came against another underdog and while Liverpool wasn't favoured against Milan the year after, they were still Liverpool. I totally expect a hard fought 2-1 loss for Dortmund, but I hope with all my heart that they can pull off a '97 repeat. Why not 3-1 again, and the final one scored by whoever is the Lars Ricken of today's BVB! I'm rooting for that new half-swedish wonderkid you've got, though it's unlikely he'll play a single second. Chelsea against Bayern in Munich? Oh yeah, that's a clear miss from me! But if you want to change the definition from underdog team to underdog *club*, then I'm still right haha.

Yeah my question was a bit late haha. I reckon they would have a better chance against Bayern(while still being clear underdogs), but fucking hell i wouldn't want to lose to the same opponent twice, like Atletico with Real. Anyway, now they'll have to do the impossible. Hopefully the realization that no one believes in them means they can play relaxed and repeat what they did against PSG(but against a better team with more luck). That was exactly my thought process. Bayern would have been an “easier” game but a much tougher loss so I’m glad it’s not them lol. It’s better for us to be the clear underdog, we have nothing to lose so there’s little to no pressure on us. And since our fans will make this a home game basically I’m sure we can create the right atmosphere to thrive in our role. Also, nobody thought we could beat Juventus in 1997, after they regularly beat us the years prior. And then we did it anyway. Is 1997 the last time the clear underdog won the final? Who would you rather have in the final? Moot point, but Dortmund beat Bayern away this season, but lost to them at home... so no advantage there. Sadly they're playing Europe's luckiest team, but we're all hoping Dortmund can do it! Yeah my question was a bit late haha. The Cardigans were pretty cool, and this song in particular.

Ambivalence in art rocks. Listening to this I can't decide whether these two will be married for 30 years or if he will be the death of her, and the song is much better for it.

Haven't been on here for a while, but Jesus Christ, annihilate Germany(minus RocketMan) from the face of the earth. Embodying the spirit of Kissinger(and that other guy), they dont want to be on the sidelines when there's a genocide going on. Out of guilt we give Israel a blank check, we ironically misunderstood our own history again. It's like they think the lesson was that it was wrong to treat *Jews* that way, not minorities in general. "They're not vermin sent by the Devil? Hmm I guess they are the people sent by God then, who can do no wrong!" It would be very funny if it wasn't so crushingly depressing.

I love it when the Fabs' northern accents come to the fore in their singing. It reminds of something that I shouldn't forget but too often do, that the best band of all time, and one of the great cultural forces of the 20th century, was just four guys from working-class Liverpool. Not Manhattan or L.A., or even London. Post-war Liverpool... Really cool.
George definitely had the strongest accent while singing -- and possibly while speaking too.
Paul's accent comes through now and then, to very pleasing effect. Some of my favourite examples: "Sunday" and "Chuck" in 'When I'm Sixty-Four'; "customer" in 'Penny Lane'; and, of course, "Rrrrrrroll uuuuuup! Roll up for the mystery too-wah!"
Lennon sounds wonderfully scouse on 'Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!', and obviously 'Polythene Pam' where he's putting it on, but otherwise was a bit more transatlantic and accentless in his singing, especially in his solo career. Not many bands can sing in regional accents and be the biggest thing ever. Of all those gazillion selling acts, I can only think of The Beatles in doing that, am I missing anyone out? Not on a comparable level of course, but Fontaines D.C? Edit: You specifically referred to "gazillion selling acts", so yeah probably not them.

This is not just a cool song, it's also written and performed by my brother! I'm a bit biased, but the way the second solo comes in a bit unexpectedly is... really nice actually.

I never feel more like an elitist when I point out the obvious fact that In Utero is miles better than Nevermind.

Tenet
After watching this nobody can convince me that Nolan doesn't have a big wank every day thinking of how clever he is. It felt like what a Nolan hater might have made as a spoof if they had the necessary budget. It's like I need a fucking degree in physics to understand the dialogue, and the blandness of the characters eventually stopped me from caring enough to try. By the end I just wanted everyone involved to die so I could get some sort of an emotional release after having felt trapped for 140 minutes. God damn.

There was a documentary on TV about her that I was told to watch and I said that she's the kind of artist that I'll probably only get around to once they're dead.
This was only a few days ago, so this feels pretty weird.

If it was made today you just KNOW it would be at least 2h30, and I'm seeing that the new movie... is 2h34, of fucking course. I was shocked to not find it to be too long at all. And maybe it was due to low expectations, but I really enjoyed it. Easily the third best in the series.

Raiders of the Lost Ark
Films like this one don't get made today, and with that I DON'T mean films that are really good, but movies that have a bunch of stuff and plot to go through but are shorter than two hours. Remembering the movie and putting it on yesterday I thought "gotta be at least 2h20", but excluding the end credits it's not even 1h50! That sounds rushed, but the pacing is pretty much perfect, it's exactly as long as it needs to be.

The new QOTSA album is the first in their carreer that isn't better than ok. Sad to see the streak ending, but it was a pretty damn good run!
