No prob with the middle 8. It sounds Beatlesy and adds variety to the song. What i dont like is the ending. It looks like a trend, tu cut out the song before going for one last emotional ending. It is not needed to repeat the same shit 12 times like in The beat goes on. But the beatiful part that happens a little after the 2 minute mark would have been good to end the song in a more emotional note. Sometimes I feel the songs are cut this way to leave you wanting more, a bit like cliffhangers in series. Sometimes it is ok, but this could be an anthem. This one could have had a full on emotional ending.

This one reminds me of that Paul Cipriani song from his last all boom , Back in Somalia. Bossa nova written by an old white english man.

Thinking he is 76 years old, and with the enormous and distant past he has, its pretty incredible he still is trying things in 2018. His voice is quite shot sometimes and there is some weak moments in the album. But he is so fuhing good... only the two last songs are in relity like 8 fragments put together. No one does what he does. He is a league on his own.

Looking forward to this. I've stayed clear of the singles so that everything will be fresh on first-listen Singles were a bit uneven for me. I dont know is a very Chaos and creation ballad, elegant, very good. Come on to me is goofy Macca. Nice and fun and maybe a bit too long. Fuh you is a bit cringey in the way Macca is trying to make some kind of 2018 hit, but its catchy too

Wow... Men! Every time I see videos of the current lineup becomes more clear the difference between Gem and Sharrock and the former guitar player/drummer. Even in If i had a gun, a quite basic song, the drums are much, much better than before.
Wanna see Holy Mountain and Dead in the water tho!

Listened to it. Guess it’s something Gem could do if he had a solo career and was obsessed with Ufo thing. Not my cup of tea at all except for Hello hi.

Hey, a good thread this one. Saw Father John Misty at the biggest weekend. Maybe it was too soon or something but he looked a bit shit. Hoping his new album is good at least.

Saw it. Missed more songs from the new album but hey, it was little more than 60 minutes. Anyway, I think he should go past the 120 minutes mark in his regular shows. He has too much material to choose from and a very very good band behind.
The song I liked less was Fort knox. Im all for Noel experimenting but it sounds a bit out of place with the rest of the material. About Heat of the moment and Dream on... they are good live but I don’t think they are that good for Noel’s standards. The rest was great.
About the band: Gem and Sharrock are miles ahead the former drummer and guitar player. Rowe and Pritchard were great as always. I like the voice of the keyboard girl. Ysee has some presence, not sold on her voice tho. Charlotte is a note of colour, she looked happy on stage and looked fit too.
The thing is, I loved the show but always I watch Noel live I get the feeling he could be one or two points better.

This album cycle consists of: No b sides No promo No streaming gigs Shit videoclips (even more shit than other times)
Love the album but man, it's like Noel watched the great promo As you were got and he is doing the contrary on purpose.

Just got back from the show and had a great time. Just one thing: I'm glad Gem is back. He's so much better than Tim Smith. That being said, he looks miserable onstage. Looks bored, never smiles or shows any excitement, and didn't make eye contact with Noel or the crowd the whole show. What's wrong with him? Seems like he doesn't wanna be there. He died in 2012 when he fell downstairs. His death was kept secret so the Beady Eye machine kept rolling. His substitute is a brazilian guitar and keyboard player named Joao Silveiro McArthur. He went thru plastic surgery so he looks now like an ancient version of the real Gem.

Yeah, he's like any legacy act touring a new album, there'll be a big chunk of that, then the standards, with a handful of lesser played stuff chucked in. He is not. He is playing 17 of 21 tunes from the 21st century. Only 3 from his heyday. 14 off his solo career. Not very often it happens from a music star in his 50s. And its great if you ask me.
