That middle section is still criminally short in my book and ought to build up to something much more frenetic. Having an extended dance break that keeps building and building between the two choruses would've been perfect. A longer intro but especially outro would've made for great bookends and (most importantly) comedown. Almost 23 years on and Noel's still irrationally afraid of making songs longer. Sad. With dance and house music once you find a good groove you've gotta keep it going, because if it's good nobody will care if it lasts forever. In fact, that's what people will want! Someone ought to tell Noel that most people stay on the dance floor for longer than 3 minutes and 43 seconds. It needs a dancey sax solo after the last chorus instead of going back to the slow part so soon, in the vein of Midnight city by M83. The way he is doing these songs, they are more or less ok but they lack variation and instrumentation. |

The studio version needed the brass after the bridge that appears in the Holland version.
And when he finishes this cosmic pop era, he should go to Abbey road with a good producer and record a full on acoustic, brass and orchestra anthemic album.
He was born to do it, and I hope hell do it eventually. He has to try!!!

Liam and Noel are doing great. The problem is not that their albums are selling less. The problem is that the music industry is selling less and less every year. In fact, Noel's and Liam's albums sales are declining less that the industry average.

He sounds tremendous.
He is completely into Rod Stewart territory now (I love his last album btw): acoustic-celtic sound, backup singers, good old ragged voice.

Liam is moving into Rod Stewart / Robbie Williams territory. He is making pop with rock appearance. Good on him. This is probably the best scenario for him at this point.
None of the songs sound much like were written by him. Maybe some sketches here and there.
Not bad. Short songs. Easy listening overall.
Shockwave- 4. Tired of those "glam" stompers from Liam and Noel. They became old when Lord don't stop me down was released.
One of us- 7,5. Beatiful song. Nice coda.
Once- 5. Tired of Oasis like anthems. He does a great job with it live so it will work.
Now that I found you- 7. Sounds like Ryan Adams when critics thought he could be the next big thing in rock. Good happy song.
Halo- 5,5. Another dry acoustic rocky song like Meaning of soul, Bring the light or Shine a light. Listened 1000 times.
Why me why not- 7. Shit production here. Great vocals by Liam are buried by unnecessary trumpets or something. Not needed.
Be still- 5. Pop version of Downbound train by Springsteen.
Alright now- 6. Travelling willburys. Always a good source for good light pop sounds.
Meadow- 3. It is not needed to make Lennonny songs anymore. He died 40 years ago. He was unique.
The river- 6. Not much melody here but good stomper, good swagger, good live. A 25 seconds long come on from Liam is always needed.
Gone- 6,5. Western guitar. Reminds me of an older Fade in out/Be where there is life. Cool strings near the end.

Invisible sun- 4. The Stone Roses are not capable of recovering old glories. Wyatt won't do it either.
Misunderstood- 5,5. Sounds like a Bell/Archer b side from the Beady eye era. Bell will ring and Millionaire mixed. Verses are terrible. Rest good. Too long.
Glimmer- 6,5. Light. Reminds me of The Coral. Earns points for being happy.
