LOL we need a new thread - Music our mums like(d) My Mum knows the Beatles, and that's about it for popular music in recent centuries. She knows a lot about opera, tho My mum's favourite Oasis song is Sunday Morning Call bless her  Years ago my father found that old video of Noel singing Sunday Morning Call acoustic on tv. He loved it and did not know it was Oasis until I told him. So I suppose it's one of his favourites too. |

That said, it's quite sad that a man who writes all his songs and publishes them on the company he built with his craft is "the stablishment", and a man who has Warner and a team of songwriters behind is the "man of the people".

Dead in the water because the way it is recorded. However the If I had a gun chorus is up there with his best. I like Dying of the light but I don't rate it in the same league.

Honestly, I've really struggled with this. The three songs I keep going back to are: Black and White Sunshine Be careful What You Wish For Keep On Reaching All three are probably the most conventional tunes on this record. I'm not going to go outta my way to slag it off, that's not my way. I remember staying up all night with Noel's first two records, trying to play em on my guitar and sharing in the excitement on here. Just didn't get that vibe this time. Good to see he is doing well with it though. Saw the itunes gig the other day. Black and white sunshine is very very good live. Better than the album version I thougt. |

Maybe not in Uk. But worldwide both albums sold almost the same in the first week, so it's not clear wich one will sell more in the long run.

Shocked that he only had two weeks in the top 10. Has any Noel release done that poorly in the charts before? 10-11 in christmas probably sells more than 3-4 in other parts of the year. He is doing well enough men |

I'm stuck in a crummy hotel in Frankfurt due to flight cancellations, having a beer at the bar, and the radio just had an advert for "NGHFB live" (that's all I understood since I don't speak German). They played bits of IIHAG, ITHOTM and Holy Mountain. Cool. The leak is imminent |
