Blur is great but look at that 5/5 stars review 🤣 I don't think, actually I am sure that members of the band wouldn't give 5 stars to themselves. I don't understand these rave reviews either. The answer lies in it being reviewed by white middle age middle class people.

They could have gone on to greater things had Sting not disappeared up his own arse. The story of Every Breath You Take, and how he took all songwriting credits, sticks in the throat of anyone who is aware of it, particularly Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers.
Summers came up with the song's guitar riff. Given its the defining feature of that song, that he never received a royalty in songwriting for that is awful. Copeland as ever isn't backwards in coming forwards telling everyone what a shit Sting was.

Unpopular opinion time, but Don't Stop has always been a dirge of a tune. The recorded version confirms that. Taken me 15 years to say it here, but its absolute bollocks!

Watched that film Living starring Bill Nighy (screenplay by Kazuo Ishiguro) on Amazon Prime this week. If you've got Prime, watch it.
What a beautiful film, was very moving.

Wonder how many Alcaraz can win? Can't see Djokovic not winning more grand slams given he's still so good, but give it a few years when he's retired and its a wonder if anyone can compete with Alcaraz in the coming years. I'm ignorant though, so anyone know any players coming through that look exciting?

Great match, a true epic, ruined by Andrew Castle's commentary.

Had my first ever Oasis related dream last night. Surreal is not the word.
It was their first reunion gig, none other than the headline slot at Glastonbury. Hilariously started off with Don't Look Back In Anger, that segued into Listen Up that the crowd went mental for knowing all the words. Third song in, Liam decides to quit the band there and then, prompting Noel to bring Cher in as his replacement.
Live Forever is then performed where Noel decides to ditch his guitar mid way through the song for a cello, playing the entire solo on it making the crowd go wild in disbelief that he's an amazing celloist.

How does the snivelling Andrew Castle keep getting the commentary gig at Wimbledon?
Tone deaf as always from the BBC in hiring this trumpet.

I weep for those whose first exposure to Oasis is Heathen Chemistry. Casual fans seem to like HC bemusedly. Casual fans must only cherry pick the singles. There is no way anyone's becoming an obsessive listening to Hung In A Bad Place or Force Of Nature, or.... the list is too much.

Any ideas on why worldwide Spotify streams of songs off Heathen Chemistry have more than doubled in the last couple of months? Almost to the level of Definitely Maybe, it seems unreal. Is SCYHO hitting it big or something? I weep for those whose first exposure to Oasis is Heathen Chemistry.

There might be some wrongdoings here but the family of the apparent victim has come out to completely deny it. If wrong, expect the mother of all libel for The Sun. Honestly, anyone who reads The Sun should have the right to vote taken away. They are not fit to be participants in a functioning society. The absolute scummiest paper written by the scummiest scum on planet earth. The Scum maybe full of shit but in this case it needs to be investigated properly. Now a second female has come forward and made claims about the same presenter. I don't read this paper and never would. I don't doubt where you're getting your news sources, indeed the second claim has been reported by the BBC itself. But when its The Sun, its always going to be dubious until verified by other sources. Those shitstains could say the sky is blue and I'd still doubt it.

So there's yet another BBC scandal, whoever this presenter is should be named but no the BBC refuse to do that and now other presenters are being accused that they're this presenter whoever it is on social media. There might be some wrongdoings here but the family of the apparent victim has come out to completely deny it. If wrong, expect the mother of all libel for The Sun. Half The World Away is always in contention for being the best song Noel has ever written.
I know they have hundreds of great great songs, but if we're whittling it down to the most bare bone essential 'greatest of all time', it's definitely in there.

If Beady Eye had gone under the Oasis name it would be an utter embarrassment. Spot on, but you wonder why they didn't just carry on with the name given they didn't make any effort at all to differentiate themselves from Oasis. There was no USP to their music. If you're gonna change the name of a band, change the bloody sound. Liam's making it up with his solo career but christ, the unbelievable dreck they churned out was embarrassing.

Music to my ears if true, I live just near the ABBA show and its epic. This has to be bigger than an Anthology reissue. Peter Jackson wouldn't be involved if it was just this (they can get any skilled film makers/record producers to clean up this material). Anthology is not nearly ambitious enough a project for him, we definitely need to think bigger with this. Exciting times! What was the Abba project. Hologram show in East London, like watching ABBA perform in their prime. I know holograms sound naff but it is properly impressive and very realistic. The venue is basically a pop up venue built especially for the show, so its built around the technology. Something that works very well for visually iconic artists so would be ideal for The Beatles.

Seeing this news about the Titanic exploring submarine. Not good news at all and I hope they are safe, but its looking pretty bleak at the moment. But why oh why with that amount of money would you do this? A waste of money to merely go in some dodgy remote controlled bathtub, when that money should go towards philanthropic efforts at the very least. Sounds like the politics of envy I know, but if you're paying £250k on a wee jaunt like that, then you've got far too much of it. More money than sense, how stupid can you be? It's obviously taken these lads out of the real world to become so detached from reality. Nobody is worth that amount of money no matter how hard you work. It's disgusting and when you work in deprived communities, it becomes so galling. But the media and society venerate such people with wealth above everyone else to the point that its dominating our news headlines above tragedies not self inflicted. I prey they are safe, but its relentless headlines and the money being spent to rescue them should ask troubling questions about the attitudes of the rich and our veneration of them over everyone else. That's the real legacy here. Curiosity. They found parts of the submersible. There's curiosity and sheer self-indulgence. This is the latter.

I know 9/11 conspiracies can be ridiculous but some of the facts about it seem too heavy to disregard. Why was the stock market with United and American airlines so active just before the attack? Why were different European intelligence agencies warning the USA about the attack but no one reacted? Though the most absurd thing about it is that the official report is against the laws of physics and the most acknowledged architects and scientists in the world say it makes sense. For the steel structure to melt it'd need almost 1500 celsius temperature, yet the fire from the plane didn't even reach 1200 celsius. Thermite (which was actually found in the air afterwards), on the other hand, reaches 2500 celsius. Both buildings also collapsed nearly at the speed of free fall which is impossible with the current information available. Both firemen and the police forces have reported explosions from the ground level, they've been completely disregarded. There are a lot more to this that baffles me, but still, if there was conspiracy to it, I don't get how no one has talked about it then because it'd've needed a massive source of resources. Seriously? Cannot be arsed going into this, but do a bit more reading and it'll debunk all the stupid crackpot theories. I suspect the people who regurgitate that shite about steel beams can't read though.

Well, Well, Well. Apparently the project will be even bigger than a reissue of Anthology in 4K. I don't know where they're getting their info from, but that one guy was talking about the release of Now and Then a week before Paul announced it. This new project is being compared with the ABBA Voyage hologram shows. Music to my ears if true, I live just near the ABBA show and its epic. This has to be bigger than an Anthology reissue. Don't know anything about production but with the exact same instruments Hargreaves is performing here, it's interesting how 'tinny' it sounds here (i.e the same piano Bonehead used on the track) without the full thick wall of sound Owen Morris production. I know Noel hates the sound of Morning Glory album but his idea of production is far too clean. I do wish he'd see sense in the fact that those Owen Morris produced albums were THE Oasis sound. His latter production efforts (in addition to the original safe and clean Definitely Maybe recordings) just goes to show that if Noel were in charge of the sonics early on, the raging success wouldn't have been there regardless of the song quality. Hargreaves should focus on doing an appraisal on the importance of Owen Morris to Oasis success rather than getting bogged down in theories like The Masterplan being about the prophecies of a superior alien race coming soon to save us from modern pop or whatever. Producers are much more important than they're given credit for by the general public. As outstanding as they were as musicians and songwriters, would have The Beatles remained timeless 50 years after their breakup if George hadn't been their producer ? Same for Bowie without Visconti ? Pop music is a sport team. Morris indeed brought so much to those albums, not only in the production but also in the arrangements. For instance, this eerie mellotron part was his idea (he even played the higher octave part during the chorus). Coming back to Hargreaves, I think he also didn't play many of the more "obscure" tracks on Don't Look Back In Anger: the organ doing the harmony throughout, the ebow during the pre chorus, the mellotron (?) that plays a very similar melody to the vocal one but on a higher octave during the chorus, probably a couple of electric rhythm guitars tracks, etc All those elements helped to fill up the frequency spectrum a bit more, which in return, helped a bit to get that massive wall of sound This is how I see it, the band are the team on the field and the producer is the coach is how I see it. I think music, particularly in the western world, is obsessed with the idea of 'genius', and most stars fall for that egotistical outlook where they are the be all and end all. But strip it all back, and as you say, there are many more cooks involved. Even the very best like Paul McCartney is not as good without the strong arm of a producer - his best record in 20 years is Chaos & Creation where Nigel Godrich exerted a lot of creative and quality control, probably to Macca's discomfort (as he hasn't made a record with him since).
