POTQ is one of Noel’s best songs. TUTS is great. Mucky Fingers is good live with the drumming outro. High Horse Lady fits the album nicely and bleeds into Falling Down with a nice transition so as an album track it’s saved as it serves its purpose. Yeah it's the usual, people writing their opinions as if they're facts. It's not a fact that High Horse lady is one of Noel's worst tunes. I listen to it and think it's great, not a skip for me. POTQ is brilliant. Noel's still be writing classics, there's two on Council Skies. But I said ages ago if they put out an album you're gonna have the usual suspects bitching about how it doesn't hold up to DM and how Noel lost it years ago - untrue to my ears. If they release an album I'm gonna avoid all social media until I've listened to it myself because it'll just be doom and gloom otherwise. I'm with you on all but one point, I have no need to avoid all social media, because I don't care what others think. I only care if I like the music or not. I love all of Noel's solo work and I'd be happy to have a new Oasis album penned by him. I know we are all different people with different tastes, but it is very interesting to me sometimes which songs some people think are bad. I just don't see it.

Don't get me wrong, other people's opinions don't influence mine, I just get sick of reading the bashing and I know what it will be like if/when a new album is released. I don't mind people having different views to mine and all that, but it's when they write like it's a universal truth that such and such a song is the worst, or such and such album is the worst therefore it wouldn't be a good idea for a new Oasis album etc... I agree with you, am happy to have a new Oasis album.

I like High Horse lady too. Of course it could have been a better song instead on doys, and its a traditionnal blues reworked / stolen. But it kinda fits.

It's interesting to think what direction the new album would go in. All of the 00's albums had their own sound more so than the 90's albums IMO. Since the split, Oasis have pretty much ignored anything that happened post 90s. It's a shame as 00's Oasis were still a really good band, would have been a successful career for any other band. I wonder if they will try to recapture some of that 90's spirit rather than make the follow up to DOYS.

Does Oasis three record deal from 2008 with Sony BMG still stand?
I assume Dig Out Your Soul was part of that, along with Time Flies, meaning one album left on the deal?

Oasis prob still owe an album. Heathen Chemistry barely constitutes an album.

Pretty sure that Sony deal was only for distribution and share of profits, as they had their own management and label by then. Even if they owed anyone anything, either Time Flies fulfilled that obligation as a compromise after the band ended or the contract was made void and someone paid someone's fines

People confuse aging and natural change with being not as good. I never got why people wanted Oasis to release another DM or WTSMG cause they are already there. Let them progress and try new things. They are not ACDC and I am so grateful for that^^

So do I, but since the Oasis brand, I think, was never dismantled (continuing cd sales, merch, etc), a distribution/share of profits contract could very well still be in place and have nothing to do with record releases and things like that. As for management/creative-related contracts, they certainly don't have any with Sony. Liam has been recording under Warner since at least AYW and Noel has been his own "manager" since the split, if I'm not mistaken.

It’s why I love each album, because they aren’t bashing out the same songs with minor changes. I’d love to hear an Oasis album with both of their years of creative learning and expression at play.
