I was at the Glasgow gig, and it was amazing to see them both, and also to hear Liam sounding amazing as well (and the rest of the band sounded great too). Loved the album highlights and the cover of JJF, although some of the energy in the room had disappeared by that point (I kept thinking how bonkers the crowd at an Oasis gig at that venue would have been going for that cover).
But I don't think it's entitled or unreasonable to feel a little bit deflated when the house lights come up and it's not even been an hour. These aren't warm-up gigs or something like that, and while I know they only have one album, they also have five further solo albums between them and the catalogue of a further four bands they were both in and wrote songs for. They could have easily rehearsed maybe a Squire solo song that fitted Liam's voice, or the Seahorses song that they both wrote, or maybe a rare Liam song or two from Oasis or his solo career that never get played.
Oasis could do 1 hr 20 mins after Definitely Maybe came out – they obviously had b-sides etc, but Liam and John have loads of other songs too. It just seems like laziness (or not giving a fuck about the gigs) not to have rehearsed another 5/6 songs.
You can never give everyone exactly what they want, but you can at least give people enough of a gig that they're not walking out at the end thinking "is that it?", which is the sense I got from most people the other night. Just feels like a missed opportunity to have these gigs feel like they were something really special.
Oh, and the band saying what the plan was on twitter replies or Radio X interviews – most people buying tickets don't look into any of that. They get an email about a tour, they text some mates, they buy tickets when they go on sale. If the email or ticketmaster site says "performing only the album" then fair enough, but if not then people are gonna expect a decent length of gig.

Just got back from Wolverhampton, 7 hour round trip 😫 Anyway, i enjoyed, could have been longer yes, but i knew the score I dont think alot of those songs went down well tbh. Apart from JAR, Raise Your Hands and Mars To Liverpool, the crowd (and Liam) seemed bored Will watch them again if they play closer, but not travelling that far for an hour show again were you able to record it?

It'll be interesting to see what's added 'by popular demand' for those ones.
Personally, I agree with the poster who said about getting to see these two legends at close quarters - worth every penny and unlikely to happen ever again.
I saw Beady Eye at Portsmouth town hall and thought that was the smallest place I'd ever get to see Liam. It was tremendous and anyone who gets to see this run of shows is really lucky.

People feeling disappointed because they didn't hear any Oasis songs they knew – they should just deal with it. People feeling a little short-changed because they're back in the pub an hour after the gig started – that's not unreasonable imo.

People feeling a little short-changed because they're back in the pub an hour after the gig started – that's not unreasonable imo. Its indeed too expensive for a short gig like that, but then again they announced it literally everywhere it would be the album and the album only. Its clear that Liam will tour DM later in the year(ONLY playing DM) and then maybe his new bubble gum album with 75% of Oasis songs. So if people are dumb enough to be surprised, that's on them.

I think the other thing to remember too is that the album hasn’t been out long at all. I defy anyone to remember a time when oasis brought out an album and on the occasion they toured some small dates early on that everyone in the crowd went mental for the new songs… they didn’t. But they did go mental for the same song 6 months + later. It’s not a reflection on quality, it just takes time. And this can have a big impact on gig energy. But having said that this should still be seen as niche project imo. In 2000, Oasis did 3 small dates in Europe for SOTSOG not long after it came out, and the gigs were pretty good. I was at one of them, and it was amazing. Usually gig in small venues are way better, mainly because the crowd... are die hards. So they're likely to know the tunes, even though the record just came out. Now i cant say for that Glasgow gig, only people there can testify. But usually, those early gigs are the best: band in top form, energy, envy... I’ve been to a few as well. The energy was always good but some of the newer songs had less of a reaction as people hadn’t learnt the words etc yet. This is on a bigger scale of that where the whole set has this problem, minus 2 singles.

The more I think about it the dafter it gets.
People are complaining because a new act with just 1 released album played said 1 released album.

Have any of you who have been to the concerts seen any cameras there? So we can get an idea if an official DVD could be released in the future

Unless it was some guy from the local news I guess.

Interesting to read everyone's thoughts on the short set. Not sure what capacities they've played so far but in Paris they're playing a pretty large one at 2500 (Liam played a 6000 seater in 2020) and I doubt more than a few people know it's less than an hour. It certainly wasn't advertised as such.
BTW, is anyone has a pit ticket available for that show I need one !
