in fairness- they sold these gigs out in about 5 minutes at that price. They were clear about what they were gonna be playing.
Gig prices are going mental. For legacy acts, it's becoming a place only rich people can go. It's not about the music- it's just an event.
Pearl Jam are charging £160 for a field in Dublin this summer- same lads who fought tooth and nail to not have Live Nation's monopoly damage artists.

I know that gig prices are more expensive nowadays, but I went to see Noel last year and the tickets were around £46 after conversion for a 1.5 hour show, so it's definitely not impossible for Liam's show to have costed less..

You say it like it makes it any less worse 70£ for a 50 minutes set it's not acceptable, people gotta work a full day for that amount of money Some people will defend their favourite artist no matter what btw this has nothing to do with the quality of the gig, he sounded great and so did the band I could probably say that some people only post here for criticise his/her "favourite" artist too. And i find it a little weird, really. If you´re going to complain about prices, go ahead. Indeed i used to go to a lot of gigs, but since these crazy prices came along i virtually don´t go to NO ONE. So talking about prices and blaming to Liam&John is not fair, IMHO. They only have an album, 10 songs. They clearly stated that they´d be performing the album plus a cover. Ticket is expensive? 100%. Don´t go. Other people will...It´s the market. But not the Liam&John market. And as Andy said above, it´s our fault. I left this train some time ago. There's been a real problem with tickets prices rising since the fall of albums sales. Its not nothing new. they have been gradually rising prices since the early 00s. first it was 40, yeah ok not so bad. If you can do 40, you can do 50. and so on. Years later prices have more than doubled. 75 for Bugg + Gallagher... that's acceptable if you are fan of both, since they are both established acts and Bugg is not exactly an opening act. Still. How many people liked both ? Maybe they should introduce tickets for the 2 acts, or just one, and you can come in depending on your tickets, that'd be fair. I dont know. But the way this is going is worrying. In 5 years it'll cost 125... I know that gig prices are more expensive nowadays, but I went to see Noel last year and the tickets were around £46 after conversion for a 1.5 hour show, so it's definitely not impossible for Liam's show to have costed less.. Who wad the opening act ? I think the ticket prices are high here because of jake bugg.

Yeah so it was an "unknown band" and the price was mainly based on NG. Makes sense. Maybe promoter fear LG's set was too short or too risky and to attract more people they added Bugg, who has still a huge following in uk. And bam, 75 a ticket. Everybody wins (but us).

To an extent. But I've been to see DMA's plenty of times, for example, in bigger venues than the Barras, and the most I've ever paid is £35. It's obviously a different kettle of fish to LG and JS (not in terms of quality IMO but in terms of names), but £70 for such a short set - and it was always going to be a short set - is a bit of a rip off from the promoter. It's DMA. This is LG after Knebworth and John Squire from Stone Roses. As you've already said, it's totally different kettle of fish. Well, it would be good if they've done a few more covers. But Liam even said they're gonna do just one cover. He told everything beforehand. In terms of quality though, DMA's are - imo - miles ahead of anything Liam or JS has put out in the past 4-5 years. £75 for 11 songs is ridic. It's not on the artists, they don't set the price, so it's not blaming them. I didn't try for tickets for that reason. And normally I'd happily pay to see either Gallagher (and have done!).

From the clips, he sounds great. So brilliant that his voice holds up, and should mean he's right on form for the dm tour

It's not on the artists, they don't set the price, so it's not blaming them. I laughed. I hope you are not that naive in real life. They and their management of couse don't write a ticket price on paper and hand it to the promoter BUT... they are fully aware what tickets cost and they obviously demand XXXX quid for their shows from the (tour) promoter who they signed with. With the costs these days for everything you won't make a fortune with small gigs in general even at that price. No offense to LG/JS but they for sure get a nice paycheck for these shows they do together and it's literally not just "going on the road to play these songs to the fans".

So they have said countless times that they'll be performing the album plus a cover...and now many people surprised about the 'only' 50 minutes show. Guys, you're hilarious. Always moaning, never enjoying! This sounds fucking AMAZING! Well said.

I doubt he’s doing that for a nice paycheck. Considering amount of tickets sold, all the expenses (esp going to the US expenses), JS paycheck etc it will be good if he isn’t losing money on this tour. When he was in BE (similar capacities gigs) he was asked during interview if his wife scolded him for not earning money from tours. Ok, we don’t know for sure how much expenses they have, probably he’s getting paid something, but like he could add literally just one more DM arena show and he would made more money than from this whole tour. That’s a passion project, no doubt

In my opinion, part of what you're paying for at that price is the intimacy of the gig. It's pretty special these days to get to see Liam in venues this small. Fair play if you don't care about that, but I would jump on it if Liam had a gig anywhere near me.

That’s a passion project, no doubt Obviously no big(!) paycheck like you said that's what his solo stuff is for but I don't think Liam would tour this record if it was 20 quid for a ticket. Let alone that they would definitely lose money then anyway. Going back to the setlist. I wouldn't have expected anything else as they were quite vocal about it. Liam even said it's just 1 cover they gonna do. This was not advertised as "performing all Oasis/Roses classics"

I’m pleased for Liam that he’s doing this but really hope he gets back to him solo stuff after it all. You can’t beat the magic of new Liam mixed with iconic oasis.
