Elie De Beaufour 🐴 If you're unwilling to acknowledge a genocide, then surely you can at least acknowledge that a 90% civilian death rate is abominable? Even Israel's own estimate of 60% civilian casualty rate is a horrifying figure.
Can you acknowledge, at the very least, ongoing war crimes? Should countries that violate international law go unpunished?
Should Americans have to tolerate that their tax dollars are being used to slaughter tens of thousands of innocent civilians?
And since you seem so "hesitant" to call it a genocide, can you elucidate the point at which war crimes committed against civilians does become genocide? Where is the line exactly? And how do we know when it's crossed?

Can people from USA compare everyday life when Trump was president and today when Biden is?
What was better, what was worse in your life.
Let's not talk about who said what in media and stuff like that.

This will be my last response to you because you have no sincere interest in discussion/debate. Instead, you continue referencing kool-aid, which leads me to believe you clearly have no argument other than to repeat the same tired tropes. Once again, I don’t like Trump, but I actually live in the U.S. and provided examples. Apparently you don’t believe the truth because it contradicts your set-in-stone belief systems. The U.S. is in a worse spot now than it was when he was in office. If it was better, I’d be thrilled and wouldn’t have posted in this thread. I genuinely don’t know and don’t give a fuck what Trump says about Ukraine. I am, however, a conscious human who resides in a failing country that is sending hundreds of billions of taxpayer money to fund a futile war instead of helping its own citizens. If Trump was in office and did the exact same thing Biden has done in regard to Russia/Ukraine, you’d want him crucified. I would too. Do you really believe Ukraine can win a war against a major superpower? Could Canada beat the U.S.? If you’re honest with yourself the answer to this question is no. I said ALL crime (sexual assaults, robberies, burglaries, sex-trafficking, etc.) was up. This is common when people experience endless hardships and have little reason to believe that things are going to improve in their environment/neighborhoods; it’s hopelessness. And hopelessness is currently higher than I’ve ever experienced in my lifetime. Historically speaking, you can find a strong connection between high crime rates and low public sentiment. In response to your last paragraph, gun control isn’t likely to happen regardless of president or party in office, but we already have the statistics: gun violence was lower during Trump’s presidency than Biden’s. Here’s a difference between you and me — you believe one party is superior in its judgment and beliefs and I believe they’re all corrupt. The evidence strongly supports my beliefs. Well, for better or worse, the US is a global super power. I understand that you have enormous problems to take care of at home, but there is no way the US can stay out of a major global conflict in a foreseeable future. If the US lets Ukraine fall under the tyranny of Putin it will not be the end of the conflict. If Ukraine falls, the probability of a Chinese attack on Taiwan, or a Russian attack on Poland, Latvia or Estonia, will be much higher. The US will be dragged into such conflicts by the laws of political gravity and it will cost the US much more than acting now will. This is also the lesson of Georgia 2008 and Ukraine 2014. If the US under the leadership of Obama had taken a less naive/irresponsible approach to Putin, either in the aftermath of the attack on Georgia or during the attack on Ukraine in 2014, Putin wouldn't have been able to carry out the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. There is no natural law saying that Russia as a major global military power will win any conflict. Russia does not value the individual human life, which makes it a tough opponent. But it is also a technnologically inept and economically stagnant country. It has lost military conflicts in the 20th century when it was a stronger country. Ukraine can win this conflict against Russia, but its ability to do so currently depends on military aid from western allies. Europe has naively/irresponsibly neglected its defence for decades and therefore, unfortunately, needs the help from the US. Europe has grown dependant on US for its own defence capabilities, which is unsustainable and we should be very thankful for what the US has done for European security. If Europe had reacted more swiftly in 2008, 2014 and 2022 (like sending the military equipment European countries sent in 2023, one year earlier), Russia would already be beaten. Thanks to the rearmament of Ukraine after the 2014 attack, it has still been able to hold out against the Russians. The rearmament was aided by US military aid under the Trump administration. Trump should be credited for that. Unfortunately it seems as if Trump's view of Ukraine changed after they were unwilling to help him in his quest to dig up dirt on Joe Biden in the run-up to the 2020 election. And he has since managed to turn his political party in this direction. Ukraine will never fall in the way you are talking. They are brave and capable enough to stop that even without help from west. Russia will not occupy all of Ukraine. Even if technically that somehow happens, there would be guerrilla groups all over the country fighting, there would be no peace, and occupations wouldn't continue peacefully. Ukrainians will fight and it would be tough as hell for Russian. They've been through enough, they are not scared to fight against bigger opponent. Russia can maybe occupy all of Ukraine but I can bet that next day at least one city would be liberated and the war would not stop. So, any thought of Russia attacking Poland is not realistic. Putin's fascists aren't capable of such a thing; we have evidence of that in practice. Poland is far away from territories occupied by Russia. Trump certainly wouldn't allow Russia to just occupy Ukraine; according to his story, he would work to establish peace, probably by giving territories to Russia that are currently occupied by them. Don't get me wrong, I don't think that's a solution or fair or how it should be, but at the same time, stories about Russia progressing further after Ukraine are not serious. Russia can't get anywhere near Poland. As for Estonia and Latvia, I don't think that Russians are interested to risk so much, spreading the front and engaging in conflict with the entire NATO pact over those two countries. I don't think that Putin thinks that they are that important.

Wrote this in 2022, still holds today:
One year into Biden’s presidency and we are seriously talking about Nuclear War and World War III for the first time in over 30 years. Putin has been around for 25 of those years - what's changed is Biden is president.

Thought experiment that has been on my mind lately: Assuming voting uncommitted leads to Biden and all politicians taking action against Israel, such as-
1. Economic sanctions.
2. Cutting financial aid.
3. Cutting weapons funding.
Would Israel take the money and weapons we've been giving them for decades, and start using them on us? It wouldn't be the first time this sort of thing happened in the Middle East.
Could this be an explanation for why our elected representatives aren't representing the majority of voters on the Gazan genocide? Do they fear a war against Israel?

Joe Biden has finally done something:
"NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH R. BIDEN JR., President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim April 2024 as Arab American Heritage Month. I call upon all Americans to learn more about the history, culture, and achievements of Arab Americans and to observe this month with appropriate programs and activities."
I'm at a loss for words.
