Liam's vocals are 2002-like (Heathen Chemistry and Scorpio Rising with Death in Vegas), the guitars are... well Squire-like. But that doesn't make up for the fact that the song is boring. In the same vein, Liam had a better tune with Better Days. But this is underwhelming at best. I'd say its far superior to Better Days. It has bite and edge. Meh, I feel neither bitten nor edged

Yeah, for me Just Another Rainbow sounds like all Oasis haters in 90s were saying that Oasis sounds like. We saw much more in those songs but lazy, boring persons saw them as just old fashioned, boring Beatles copycats. Just Another Rainbow sounds like every parody of Oasis, but when they were making parodies in the 90s, joke was on them, because everyone who was making parody was just proving the point that they can't capture magic of Oasis. But now they can. Basically this song could be parody of Oasis. The way I see it is if you're average local band made this, nobody on this forum would listen twice. And they would say it sounds like a parody of Oasis by some lads stuck in the 90s.... because that's what it sounds like. We know squire is a good guitarist etc etc but the songwriting here is very mediocre. People listen differently because of the names on the record. But the actual song in terms of melody and lyrics sounds like your kind of average decent local band that knows how to achieve a certain sound but haven't really got the knack of writing good songs. But that's how it goes. Fans rarely listen objectively.

I had this argument at University about (ironically) Ian Brown’s If Dolphins Were Monkeys.
Flatmate: “you wouldn’t like that if it wasn’t Ian Brown”.
Me: “but it is Ian Brown”.
F: “but if it wasn’t”.
M: “but it is!”
And - this is Liam Gallagher and John Squire, without which it wouldn’t be .. what it is!

I certainly don't think that it's far more superior to Better Days. The problem with this song is that it's far too much like The Stone Roses who I'm not a fan of. The song isn't crap or anything but it could've been better.

I think it sounds more like The Seahorses than The Stone Roses.

That quote ends with "in search of profound lyrical insight," thus making it accurate.

Really bad song with good vocals and guitar work. I’ve listened 3-4 times and it’s gotten worse each time. Prob not something I’ll go back to.

Noel’s going to have a field day with Liam’s Bungle impression, singing the colours of the rainbow…
How long until he mentions it?
I’m going 3 days

It was exactly what I expected, a stodgy late Beatles psychodelic trudge with a Squire solo thrown on top. Squire's gutiarwork is the only thing to admire about this which makes me wonder if it is going to turn out similar to Second Coming. Liam doesn't sound great either, the processing on his voice is getting a little out of hand. Not that it matters because there is no semblance of a melody for him to carry and the most egregious thing about it by far is the lyrics - woeful - listing the colours of the rainbow is a new low for Liam and his songwriting team. Could have been an alternative verse for Little James it is that poor.
No one will remember this past the album's releas and even then, I'd skip it.

It seems that the streaming and sales data are very satisfactory! And it's gratifying to know that you've achieved it with rock and not with the usual pop songs. Congratulations to Liam and Squire for this courage!

Congratulations to Liam and Squire for this courage! What streaming data is there? I dont have spotify so ive no idea if its been popular or not. Its no1 on itunes in the UK but that was pretty much a foregone conclusion.

Based on the comments but didn't expect to like it. Really like it though. I actually think it needs to be one minute *longer* wish the outro was even longer without the fade.

Def a love it or hate it tune. I find the vibes are immaculate on it myself, happy to be happy enjoying a Liam track. It does need a bit more Liam belting out before the solo, but thats about it for me.

Well you're intentionally misrepresenting the article here by lopping off the end of the quote which continues... "it’s a long time indeed since anyone bought a record sung by Liam Gallagher, or indeed Oasis, in search of profound lyrical insight..." So I could say the same thing to you - what the actual fuck? If you don't like the article or the views expressed then fine, but don't post misleading crap like that unless you want to go and work for Rupert Murdoch or Fox News.

Promising start. Liam's voice is in good shape as is John's guitar.
