Hmm, not loving it after the first listen. One youtube comment said "Noel is back to the 90's. Finally." - WTF are they talking about?

7,5/10 but I feel like it could improve cause I'm really digging the chorus (despite the obvious Mighty I nod)

First listen - really poor. Suffers from the same boring, plodding vibe of 'Easy Now'. Weakest of the 4 so far (by some distance). But that's just on initial listen. Although I find with this style of tune from Noel that nothing grabs me, I have very little desire to re-listen.
But I won't be swayed that 'Pretty Boy' is an absolute tune, I'm sticking by that. And 'Dead To The World' is definitely one of his strongest solo tracks so far.

5,5 but gave it a six.
I love the instrumentation and the production and I'm loving the "Police/Sting" influence!
Not too sure about the Pretty Boy rehash...
Will be epic in instrumental form.

Hmm, not loving it after the first listen. One youtube comment said "Noel is back to the 90's. Finally." - WTF are they talking about? For a weirdly large portion of the fanbase, there are two NGHFB genres: "Electronic Dance Shite", and "Classic Noel". You can boil it down to whether an acoustic guitar is audible at any point, and every song must be placed into one of the two groups.

Yeah, a 6 for me as well. Just fine. Could've been a bit shorter, I think. I like the relaxed, almost bossa nova-y vibes of the instrumental and the melody is nice enough, even though it does sound a bit like a pastiche of Pretty Boy, Rattling Rose and BOTMI (for the chorus bit only). Wouldn't say it's Noel on autopilot though. Is it me or it sounds bad though? Too much going on in the mids region, not nearly enough clarity or separation. The vocals are buried in the mix even when Noel's going for it, it's quite annoying. There's also a terrible vocal chop at 1:33 where you can just hear the clicking. Nitpicks of a sound technician maybe

I give it a 6
I can finally enjoy The Ballad of Mighty I as it was meant to be initially without the dire 80s production, so that's that.

Crazy how Spotify crushes songs.

It's concise, organised, even punchy for what it's worth. Had it had a better chorus.......

After 2 listens….i do find this somewhat bland.
The rhythm is somewhat dynamic but also a bit cluttered and lacks a true sonic punch, similar to the issue with some production on his first album. Song has some memorable sections, but like a few have said the hook line sounds a bit too much like BOTMI.
After giving Pretty Boy 4, Easy Now 7 and Dead To The World 6, I’m saying 5 for this. Maybe it will improve with more listens.

8/10. I simply love this type of breezy songs by Noel
But I agree it sounds terrible on Spotify. For instance, if you listen to 'Flying on the ground' and 'Council Skies " back to back, the difference is huge. How can this happen to qn A-list artist in 2023?

It's a good solid tune. Not everything has to be a the greatest thing in the world. I'd say a 7/8.

6/10 after 2 listens. It's good and pretty up to par with what Noel's been doing in the last years since certain EPs and Back the Way We Came. But it's also a sort of mishmash of songs he already did. It's got a Rattling Rose sound and vibe, the "I found you" is exactly the same as in Ballad of the Might I, "I believe in magical" sounds like "I believe in magic love" from You Know You Can't Go Back. I'm not saying that's a bad thing but, it's noticable.
It might grow on me though.
