Does anyone know how he plans on releasing this? I don’t have Instagram so can’t play the clips but Ryan Adams is one of my favourite artists so cannot wait for this. He releases them through his website as a free download. You might need to sign up for a mailing list |

Yeah I feel the same actually from what I’ve heard on YouTube.
I’m a big fan of Ryan Adams’ music and for those of you a bit unfamiliar, it’s a varied mix; you have alt country, punk rock, indie, heartland rock all sort of mixed together. When I first heard this was happening my brain immediately thought of an Alt Country version of Some Might Say complete with Steel Guitar and harmonica or a heavy, distorted Roll With It but nah it’s all the same acoustic, down tempo take on all of them from what I’ve heard

It's worth a listen, but it's not a "real" album, it's just him at 3 am recording rough tracks on his iPhone or something. I wouldn't judge him on his covers albums. He's probably just very bored and while he's getting ready to release his next own 10 records this year, he record those cover albums just for fun and put them out for free. Morning Glory and She's Electric are the best ones. |

I'm not gonna listen, but I just don't get the point.
Unless hipsters felt they couldnt admit they liked Wonderwall until this critically acclaimed sex pest did a pretty much identical version. There are a few minor changes in Adams's take on Noel's masterpiece, it's not like he turned into 9/8 time Jazz Rock or an Ibiza Dance floor anthem.
But this is what arseholes like morons at Pitchfork will probably say "You know maaaan Noel Gallagher talentless hack maaaan, but that Ryan Adams who's not a sellout, when he does his tunes, that's the only way that I'll ever listen to em." Maaaaan.

yeah i guess my biggest concern so far with the raw versions is that they are sucking the life out of some pretty uptempo Oasis songs. i get it. we'll see how they turn out finished. some i will like- some i won't. songs like Talk Tonight will work well i think for obvious reasons. Ive always loved his prior cover of Wonderwall- and i believe Noel did too.

I feel the same tbh, I get that it's his style and it's a nice sound but I feel like a whole album of reworks where every song is slowed down might get boring. Ive always loved his prior cover of Wonderwall- and i believe Noel did too. Noel loved it that much that he played it the "Ryan Adams" way for many years during Oasis tours and those solo tours back in the early 00s. It's probably not the best idea to judge Ryan Adams on this "project". It's just a throwaway really, and as a Ryan Adams fan, i gotta say they sound a bit shit, bar a couple. To really dig into his work i recommend albums like Rock N roll, Love Is Hell, 29, Wednesdays, Heartbreaker. Of course Gold, but this one is obvious. |
