The most incredible thing about football is that a team with Messi and Mbappé up front will once again fail to win the Champions League this season.

What a game, fair play to France for coming back into it, thought they were gone - they never kicked a ball up until the 80th minute.

Up until 80th minute, I was looking and Mbappe and thinking 'fuck sake, this is the worst big player performance in a major final ever'.....

To see Ronnie O'Sullivan and Lionel Messi become undisputed GOATs in the same year has been a joy.
People who bring art, elegance, rapture, and transcendence to their sport should always be rewarded.
Mbappe is something special, too. He will join that Pele, Maradona, Messi pantheon, if he hasn't already.

What an incredible game. Kicked off 11pm my time. Let's just say it was a long night Big difference in the keepers in the shootout. Martinez bossed it while Lloris looked like a little boy lost. His last minute save was incredible as well.

Aye but fair play to Deschamps - he had the bottle to take of Dembele and Giroud before half time and change things up, the two boys be brought on in their place plus thon Coman were probably their best performers on the day.

I actually find these "GOAT" debates a bit tiresome but anyway - IMO, if Maradona played in this era he'd have run riot. He played in an era where defenders could chop you down over and over again throughout a game and receive no booking. Jeez I remember when clubs would go through a whole season without a single red card. These days, you just brush somebody and its a free kick and a potentially booking. That is not to diminish Mess's talent in any way as he is amazing, but from a pure natural talent comparison, Maradona is at least his equal. Plus he was a nutter and you never knew what he was going to do next.
