Why the hate for The Beat Goes On ? It's nice, not groundbreaking and way too long.
but as a 3 and half minute song, it works.
Still better than Pretty boy.

My vote goes to Bring the Light as well, although if we're counting She Is Love as a single it's up there
As far as NGHFB go it may be the worst one but I like basically all the simgles, it's either this or Lock All The Doors

Pretty Boy is 100% meaningless song. The Beat Goes On is like, we are trying to bring some emotions and make a great song, even if are not the best at doing it.

Is it worrying for the new album ? with the divorce and all, let's hope Noel has not lost his senses and actually listened to people.
I know he didn't listen to his team for Holy Mountain, but i gotta say, fear is growing. Tomorrow is pivotal, if the next single blows too.

I used to say Bring the Light but in recent years I realized what they were trying to do - diversify from Oasis enough but keep it exciting and in your face. Bring the Light is shit melodically, but i really like the production on it. So it's saving it.
Beat Goes On might be cliche but remove the cheesy production, it works as a song, and it's actually a pretty good melody.

They might have had good intentions with it but it was executed so poorly all it did was highlight how bad they all are at songwriting. Something that 2 full Beady Eye albums just hammered home. |

But really, in the age of streaming, where Noel didn't even put out many worthwhile b-sides after his debut album cycle, and virtually no one puchases physical product any more outside the most fanatical of die hard collectors (like us basically) does any one really give a shit?

Liam's right, it's dog shit. Worst single Noel has ever released. I still feel Holy Mountain is the worst one. Holy Mountain is horrible but it has a bit more to it. PB sounds like something Noel could write and make in 10 minutes, pure throwaway IMO. |

I like the vibe, I like the atmosphere, I like the sound, but for me there's no getting around the fact that the chorus just walks right into a brick wall every time. It's such a flat, uninspired hook to just repeat the "You said you want it, yeah, yeah!" melody a few times and then duck back down with that "So get your head down, pretty boy" bit. The verses are also a bit vibe-over-tune as well, so there's not a lot of credit in the bank for such a bland chorus. I don't know. It's a b-side, to me. And I've always enjoyed the sleek, crisp, punchy groove of ITHOTM. |
