Well, I'm just telling you to think about it differently than just men wanting to use women's bathrooms, compete in women's sports, and wear dresses. I don't know how you would know how I think about this topic... I haven't given my opinon about it anywhere... so I don't know what you're on about here... Being anti-mask and anti-climate action doesn't make you anti the rest of it either. He's not a bad/ignorant person for having those views, you just don't see it the same way because you're not in his shoes. I didn't say he was a bad/ignorant person either. A lot of people who speak against the so-called "woke" culture often also bemoan the fact that right now, a part of the younger generation is trying to get rid of gender norms. I'm just saying I hope this is not him complaining against that. Also, I can disagree with his views and not appreciate it making its way in the music, hence why my comment was made in the "Pretty boy thoughts" thread and why I said I didn't want a debate about it here (or anywhere for that matter).

Listening back today. I think this is a very strong single.

Listened to it again recently and its exactly what I thought of the last time. Beat is catchy and it's a fun little tune. I know I said 7/10 but I just consider that average, like a C. That's what it is. Not bad enough to get a C, but not good enough to where I selectively want to listen to it.

I just can’t find anything to like or love about it. I mean, it’s listenable. But every time I put it on, I find my mind wanders and then I’m like “oh wait, Noel’s new song is still playing.” Needs more than just a “a mood” for me. A hook, a melody, something. Really disappointed, but I like the way he’s describing the album so hope is not lost.

The more I listen, the more I love it. It really grows on you, and I liked it to begin with.
I like how it builds and evolves as the song goes on, the lyrics are cool and the vocal is nice. And by the end you have Johnnys guitar in it. I thinks it’s awesome, and far from “safe” in my opinion.

Really enjoyed that. I love how when he starts praising the guitar playing he’s talking about Marr’s part :-D X

It’s amazing that people still bitch about the EPs. Do you prefer the alternative? Like we would have gotten nothing 2018 to 2022? Because fuck that!!!! Plenty of good tunes on those EPs. It’s almost like Noel gave us an album during those months. I still really dig Black Star Dancing, Sail On, This Is The Place and Blue Moon Rising a lot. EPs with some great songs on maybe? The attempted censorship you do on Noels output is very strange. I constantly see you defend Holy Mountain to people who don't like it by telling everyone it apparently had good staying power at number 83 in the charts. What's that got to do with it if someone says they think it's crap? Then any kind of criticism of the EPs your defence is well at least he put something out? I'm not targeting you and it happens on the Liam threads as well but if someone doesn't like something and as long as it's constructive I don't think there should be this mad need to defend everything all the time.

I’m not censoring anything. I’m fair to both brothers. I like the EPs and a lot of the songs on them. I’d rather have those EPs than nothing over the last 5 years. Are all the tracks home runs? No. But both brothers have plenty of album tracks that aren’t world beaters either. My Holy Mountain point is about people saying it bombed and was a failure. That’s simply not true. It’s one of his biggest “hit” solo songs. That’s my point. He doesn’t have that many tracks that debut that high, sold that well and lingered in the top 100 for 3 months. Not liking the song is one thing, it’s another to say it bombed.

Struggled to keep any interest in this one since the weekend it came out. B-side written all over it, for me.

It's #28 on UK iTunes and #12 on UK Amazon for purchases. YouTube video has 7K likes.

I don't really look at the chart success of anything and find any correlation in quality. The lead singles off Liam and Noels (less so Noel now) will always be only singles they have that make any kind of impact on the chart, bar any kind of standalone songs. I'd put stuff like longevity of anything down to how much the label pushes the song commercially i.e in the background of TV shows. It's absolutely fair to say its a divisive song and I thought it was awful on first listen. I like it more now but I can completely see why it isn't liked. The way Noel looked for validity for it was quite insecure for someone who pretends not to give a fuck too.

I was giving my opinion on Pretty Boy and homeboy comes in trashing Holy Mountain.

Can't believe grown men are arguing over if a song/album is good or not. You either like it or you don't. It's as simple as that really. It's an opinion. Doesn't make you right or wrong. If you don't like it, fair enough - but stop telling people 'its shit". That's just your opinion. Let the people that like it enjoy it. Jesus Christ, it's like being in a school playground.

I'm kind of glad Liam is this gleeful and sticking the knife in now he's way more popular. Noel did it when the roles were reversed.
