Ok, so I imagine this won’t be overly popular but I just thought I put it out there anyway.
Not their greatest album but some great singles and a real positive upbeat feel to it. I think it gets missed how much of an influence on the band the recording of Proud Mary’s The Same Old Blues was, almost a dress rehearsal for how they were going to record Heathen Chemistry. “The Same old blues” was recorded at Wheeler End between 20th November and 4th December 2000, I’m guessing shortly before Oasis went into rehearsals for their short South American Tour in Mid January 2001. Many people connected with oasis were involved in the Proud Mary album including Mike Rowe on keyboards, mark spike stent mixing, Jan Stan Kybert Engineering and Noel producing with assistance from Gem. This is virtually the same as Heathen Chemistry.
If a 20th Anniversary edition of Heathen Chemistry was released what would we want included?
The demos for a start The Hindu Times SCYHO Songbird
Finsbury Park gig

I definitely don’t see a 20th anniversary of an album that is Oasis basically at their low point. Generic rock sounds. Average tunes. A band in full retreat from the SOTSOG sonics. I was let down by this creative turn.

If they're going to give special treatments to shite like this, we might as well start getting excited for a Cheeky Girls reissue.

Iiked Heathen Chemistry and always will. It's not my favourite album by Oasis but it still has some good songs on it.

To me GLIO still sounds fresh now. Some great songs on SOTSOG - gas panic, GLIO, FITB, WFL, WDIAGW, Roll it over. Some good b sides during that era too - LAMB, full on and Cigarettes in hell

I think DBTT could get a reissue release. Sure it’s an overrated album which suffers similar problems to HC but the vibe upon release and supportive tour was extremely positive. Plus a bonus would be including the Death In Vegas sessions, Stop The Clocks version with Liam, with Noel and with both singing at same time. Plus I got a feeling Liam did lay down vocals for Record Machine at this time. We all know the DOYS story but this was 3 years prior.

I would rather have one My Big Mouth remix than reissues for all the post-2000's albums combined

Oasis Anthology potentials…….
Setting Sun Lock All The Door The Red The White The Blue All Around The World (Boardwalk) I Am The Walrus (studio) Step Out (Liam vox) For One, So Young Little By Little (Liam vox) Force of Nature (Liam vox) Revival The Roller (Heathen Chemistry demo) A Quick Peep (5 min version) Smiler Stop The Clocks (Liam) Record Machine (Liam) Come On, It’s All Right (DOYS demo)
All of that before I even toss in DIV sessions or the instrumental music made for DOYS with Kasabian, plus tunes like “Slow”, “The Magic Can’t Be Right”, “Don’t Be Down”, etc.

Don't forget that it appears with the first three albums Oasis Management didn't have access to any multitrack studio tapes other then the finished album master tape. All the outtakes seem to have been taken from CDRs or DATs or cassettes. That Heathen Chemistry stuff you mention does sound fascinating but it may all only be the studio multitracks unless somebody ran off a copy to take home at the time.

I would have thought most of the later demos and rare tracks were recorded at Wheeler End Studios which the band were renting between 1999 and (I think) 2007, so they would have had full control over all the tracks

It’s clear that Liam as he said at the time was demoing with Andy and Gem at places like Wheeler End (Soldier On?). From 2001-2009 I’d imagine there is tons of stuff. Like you say DBTT especially. Considering how many studios they used before going to LA there must be different versions of the songs let alone unreleased stuff.

Didn't Noel say they had 60 songs for DBTT? So they could issue a 4CD boxset for that album alone if they wanted to.
I'd be surprised if we don't get anything in 2025 for the anniversary considering how great that time period was for the band. I'd love it too because it was when i first became a big fan.

I have a morbid curiosity for songs that were left on the floor while Better Man was on the record and She is Love was a single, but knowing Noel, there's probably one that's better than The Masterplan
