This is going on now:
They just showed an acoustic version of Some Might Say that Liam did. I like how the stripped-down version highlights the Beatlesque melodic qualities, Stones-y riffing & grooves, and the baggy-inspired drums that make up Some Might Say. The studio version adds in that dream pop/shoegaze-like wall of sound, which ties it all together.
I love breaking the songs down. It really puts into context why Oasis was such a special band, especially in the '90s. They lost that diverse range of British rock influences after SOTSOG and seemingly succumbed to the Beatles/Stones/Sex Pistols trope that the press shrouded them in early on.

I haven't watched any of the documentaries. Anyway, I got my coloured vinyl from Normans Records today. The picture disc and remastered cassette which I ordered from the Oasis store are on the way. 25 years of this album already crazy.

To me Some Might Say is 100% Slade. I can practically hear Noddy Holder singing it. It's great!

Despite containing 2 of my top 3 Oasis songs, Morning Glory hasn’t ever been held in that high regard for me as I always felt it sounded dated, a bit soft and very ‘indie’ which isn’t my taste.
However you can’t argue the songs are phenomenal. Liam’s vocals and Noel’s melodies are on another level on this record

Doesn't get better than this I understand City obviously, but is there any link at all between Roma and the Gallaghers?

Not really, they just make lots of playlists (usually inspired by anniversaries, news or just teams we play) and admin seems to be quite fond of the Manchester music scene The only real connection is that De Rossi's a massive Oasis fan, he had The Masterplan coming out the stadium speakers after his last game at the club

Noel said half the album was written prior to going into the studio, and the other half was written in the studio - he then says that you can tell which ones were written in the studio because they just repeat the 1st verse. The only ones I can think of are Wonderwall, Cast No Shadow and Morning Glory... 3/10

The only ones I can think of are Wonderwall, Cast No Shadow and Morning Glory... 3/10 It's weird how the general narrative amongst critics is that Noel started to lose his magic touch on Be Here Now, yet most of those songs on the third album were written prior to maybe half of Morning Glory? Not to mention The Masterplan was also written during the recording, just for the sake of a b-side.

Oasis are massive in Italy , a lot of association with the football teams over there aswell but they’ve a massive fan base there Morning glory is closest album to a pop masterpiece you’ll ever get in my opinion

I haven't watched any of the documentaries. I haven't either. Has any previously unseen Oasis footage or unheard Oasis music turned for this anniversary?

Has any previously unseen Oasis footage or unheard Oasis music turned for this anniversary? backing track of Some Might Say where you can hear a bit of Noel's vocal heard there would be more from Tim Abbot edit - Miles Kane was actually pretty fucking good mega tune

I don't think they were that great. Definitely Maybe having two live versions of Supersonic on it annoyed me. I didn't even bother buying the WTSMG one. Be Here Now was good with the Mustique demos but they fucked us over with Trip Inside and never admitted why. Plus there was the tease of the DYKWIM rethink but Noel couldn't be arsed with the rest. I'd at least have loved to hear the My Big Mouth one he allegedly finished.

How many hours d'you reckon the outro for Some Might Say would have gone on for if it was recorded in '97?

Noel will only do what he has to, just pic disc reissue, no hidden gems, just a another poorly put together package The chasing the sun reissues werent poorly put together. I thought the recordings were terrible, what could of been released wasn’t, Liam step out and sad song vocals are prime examples, the Noel solo stuff is bland and anything good is easily available on quality bootlegs, it’s all Noel business now so we only get what he wants us to hear, CTS releases could of been so much better, but as always that’s only my opinion.
