So as most of you know, October 2nd (which is also a Friday this year, therefore release day) marks the exact 25th anniversary for (What’s The Story) Morning Glory?
I assume we’ll get a reissue treatment.
My expectation: • Double colored vinyl (gold?) • Double picture disc (with Noel’s back of head being one for SURE) • New T-shirts, coasters and other merch at the official store.
I also assume we’ll start getting information within the end of next week or beginning of the one after that, Monday 8/31 - Tuesday 9/1 seeming like a good time, as it’ll be exactly a month away.
Is there anything else you guys think we might see?

Yes we got a picture vinyl (which I bought) and another vinyl release (which I forget now as I didn't buy it) but it wasn't another black vinyl.

I think that we'll get something for the 25th anniversary of (What's The Story) Morning Glory? Either another picture disc and something else like they did with Definitely Maybe or they will think of something different completely. But I think we'll definitely get something.

I think I’ve gotten all I need from Morning Glory. Is there still juice left to squeeze? Maybe acoustic demo of “Champagne Supernova” or Liam led “Step Out” or “Don’t Look Back In Anger”.

No new material I’m afraid. But a colored reissue (like the silver definitely maybe) and a picture disc is 100% I would think.

Oh I don't expect any new material but I expect some pre-release of the album. I mean it's Oasis biggest selling album so surely they'll be wanting to release something.

Would be nice if they release Step Out with Liam in vocals like they released Don't Stop...

Would be nice if they release Step Out with Liam in vocals like they released Don't Stop... I hope so but with Step Out Noel would have to give royalties to other people and seems more inclined to go for stuff that he sings where possible.

I was thinking about this recently too. It’s only 6 weeks away now so they’re already cutting it fine. I’m sure the Def Maybe stuff was a pre order 2/3 months in advance.
It’d be great if they spring a surprise but my expectations are beyond low. I’ll defo buy a picture disc if that’s what’s on offer but it would be pretty underwhelming.
There should really be some sort of TV special in the U.K. to mark the anniversary of such a seminal event. Suppose it’s all been said and done before though....

To be honest I can't remember when they announced the Definitely Maybe stuff for the 25th anniversary. But yeah, they're cutting it a bit fine for this. But there's still time yet so I won't give up. That would be great if there was a TV special to mark the anniversary. But I can't see it myself.

Don't see any new material either because we already got that on the 20th anniversary reissues. And I remember there wasn't actually anything for Record Store Day this year, but then they did do a reissue of DM for the thing they came up to replace RSD because of the lockdowns.
Maybe some single reissues (know they did Supersonic years back) considering people are still buying the reissued WTSMG to begin with?

Not like Oasis management wait and drop this news (if there is any).

All they did for the Love Record Stores thing was allow the picture disc to be sold in indie stores. Previously it was only available on the Oasis site and it wasn’t shifting, so they allowed it to be sold in stores. The lack of imagination or interest in Record Store Day over the years just sums up Oasis management. To be 20 years on from Familiar to Millions and still have no further live album is mental! People are paying £200 for bootlegs of Maine Road for god sake! Take our money Oasis 😂

I doubt we'll even get any demos to be honest. Also, are there actually any unreleased tracks from Morning Glory apart from Liam's version of Step Out? It'll be no doubt the same release that we got for Definitely Maybe but with a different coloured vinyl.

I saw that Ironic by Alanis Morissette was restored on YT in 4K to celebrate 25 years of Jagged Little Pill and it looks fantastic, it doesn't seems like it's 1995.
It would be great to see one of their videos getting the same treatment, maybe Wonderwall or Champagne Supernova, at least it's something.

There's probably more on the original studio session tapes but judging by the lack of any of that sort of studio stuff on the previous reissues, either the studio session tapes were junked or lost or they legally don't have access to them or they can't afford access to them.

I wouldn't get too excited, probably a picture vinyl and a few posts on social media, that's all. The Chasing the Sun releases are still too recent to release new rarities from the era.

This, unfortunately. 2025 at the earliest before they dip into the MG vault again I would say. I'm honestly more excited about the potential 20th anniversary releases for the 21st century Oasis albums, that's where we're likely to get new songs.
