Liam has only just mentioned this just recently in his post on Instagram. I really thought that he would have mentioned it by now or maybe he knew about it but forgot about it. Was also mentioned in the face-less "authorized" Oasis twitter account yesterday ... think they just received some official commemoration from Spotify for it so that's why it suddenly came up well after the fact. Does anybody know how Liam got the commemoration from Spotify he shared on his Instagram account? The reason I am asking is if (this is me assuming) Spotify gives out one commemoration, wouldn't Noel receive it since he is in charge of all the Oasis account stuff? I understand this point is moot if multiple members can have the commemoration if it is a physical plaque or whatever it is for instance. But does anyone else find it odd that Liam actually was given one of the commemorations if it was a physical commemoration? Apologies if this is a dumb question. |

Noel got one a few weeks ago, mentioned it on Matt Morgan's podcast Maybe they sent one to all the members, or it's a matter of labels so they both got one |

Wait a minute - it's now at 1 billion and 116 million. Something doesn't add up here. Edit: I realize these news are 6 months old now, but that still seems improbable. It would mean almost 20 million new listens each month, or 640.000 listens per day. Well, given that both Time Flies and WTSMG are in the top 100 in the UK Charts every week and that's mostly off streams, and that Wonderwall must be in countless playlists, it's not that far fetched |

Spotify does give out physical plaques for 1 billion streams. Typically these things go through personal reps or management, though I can't say how it worked (or didn't work!) in this case. For any split-up band, it might be a little more complicated and could take longer to go to one band member than others. But who knows here? I'm sure Liam receives some form communication from Oasis management constantly on all kinds of financial and personal matters, though not necessarily directly. But yes, the award goes to the band, not to the writer in this case. |

I think that it's great that both Time Flies and (What's The Story) Morning Glory? are in the top 100 in the UK charts every week which is mostly off streams.
I wonder how Wonderwall is doing on the other streaming sites or any other Oasis song for that matter.
