I wasn't familiar with his solo music, and gave it a listen. I have to say it's not for me. We All Fall Down was the only song I liked on the new album. I haven't listened to any of his new album but I didn't like his first one so I doubt I'll bother with this one.

All the different styles and influences make this an amazing effort! Way of The World is from his time in Oasis. Riverside and Love Is The Frequency are excellent.

Just did the Listening Party, cold listen from end-to-end. What a dreamy groove. Creates its own universe. Sonically lush and diverse; honest, interesting lyrics (“playing tunes to lock out the bad dreams”); invites many listens and shifts through all the moods.
Way of the World, By the Riverside, No Getting Out Alive, Love is the Frequency, Sidewinder are immediate standouts for me. (Liam could have sung Way of the World beautifully – would love him to sink his teeth into a meatier song like this some time again.) It’s a very chill, psychedelic vibe for 76 minutes, and a real genre blender, which isn’t usually my thing, but it grabbed hold of me and kept taking me deeper. Dares to actually be an album.

Don’t forget She Calls The Tune. Andy’s first Oasis composition. And what a track it is! I’d love to know what Noel’s thought process was on some of these early Oasis Andy tracks he passed on. The stuff on Flicker towers over A Quick Peep, Keep The Dream Alive and Nature of Reality.

I'm into my first listen right now. Loving it so far... lush, dreamy, layered, eclectic.

To be fair to Noel Beady Eye didn't use it/them either. I will listen to that record although i was never a fan of Andy's songs to be honest. Bell that is, i love my songs.

Like seriously. Fuck you Noel. “Way of The World” and “She Calls The Tune” are way way better than “Force of Nature”, Probably All In My Mind” and “The Cage”.

Yeah i dont know, Andy Bell was never my jam, Ride or Hurricane #1 or Oasis tunes.
This solo album does the same to me, eg, not much.

I’d love to know what Noel’s thought process was on some of these early Oasis Andy tracks he passed on. The stuff on Flicker towers over A Quick Peep, Keep The Dream Alive and Nature of Reality. This. It genuinely makes it hard to believe it was anything other than ego because he didn't want any of the others having better songs than him, or at least distracting from his own songs. If George Harrison had a hard time getting his songs on albums as the quiet one, then Andy Bell sure would. To this day, Boy With The Blues being spunked away as a bonus song annoys me. Seems like Noel went away and had complete control over tracklisting though and that was that.

Its good musically but nothing on it comes even close to how well Noel writes melody.
And there is zero chance he would get to make any Oasis song sound like them songs. So imagine any of them songs as straight up Liam vocals and Oasis/Beady Eye style instrumentals and you basically get Soon Come Tomorrow sadly. He's much better suited being left to his own devices and making Ride style songs.

Surprisingly very good indeed. I wouldn't have listened at all had this not been praised here and would have missed an excellent collection of music. Viva Andy!

Yeah you guys would slate these songs if they were on a Oasis or BE album lbr
Anyway I’m glad that Andy is doing his thing and happy. And Gem at last had opportunity to do some creative work

Yeah you guys would slate these songs if they were on a Oasis or BE album lbr Such a stupid comment to make Well that’s my opinion, stupid or not. I’m not saying that the album is bad, of course not. What’s good about these songs - arrangement and dreamy vibe would be different if they recorded them for Oasis and BE. Liam’s singing would make you concentrate on vocal melody and you’d realize that it’s not strong. Also I think people have bigger expectations for Oasis, The Gallagher’s music so their criticism would be more harsh I think. Music doesn’t exist in vacuum.

And Gem at last had opportunity to do some creative work But these songs are not for Oasis or Beady Eye. They’re Andy’s songs done the way Andy wanted to do them, which is something quite different from what Noel or Liam would do, and he created something beautiful (and also meaningful in a way a few individual songs just stuck on Oasis albums could never be.) No reason to slate a lovely, cohesive album that stands very much on its own terms.
Of course you don't have to like the album. Would not think this one is for everyone. But there are standards in 2022 other than "would it have sounded good as an Oasis album?"
