Dunno. Maybe put it up with a "Gallagher" account. Maybe release it as Oasis but put the year as 2000-and-whatever. There's just something about it being labelled a new Oasis single that irks me, particularly if Liam wasn't asked about it. I'm sure the world will keep turning, though, I'm gonna have a tuna toastie. But it's not being labelled a single. On Spotify it has "demo" in the title. How much more specific does it have to be? Lol On Apple Music it's Song: "Don't Stop (Demo) - Single" Artist: "Oasis" Year: "2020" I'm not gonna start a mass protest about it or anything, but I'd be lying if I said it didn't leave a strange taste in the mouth. Maybe it's just the anticlimax of having a new Oasis single in my library and that feeling utterly unexciting, combined with knowing it has nothing to do with Liam. Just feels odd, but of course I'm happy enough to have it. I hope more exciting stuff like the Death in Vegas sessions comes out of the hallowed sock drawers.

I have ZERO issues with this being released under the Oasis banner. If we trust Noel that this was an Oasis demo from 2004-2005ish then why wouldn't he put it out under the name of the band when it was created? No brainer to me. Its certainly not a HFB demo, although you could imagine this being on his debut. We should just be happy we got this. We could have gotten.........................nothing.
It would be grand if Noel was secretly going through all the tapes and CDs to assemble an Oasis anthology or rarities album with "Don't Stop..." being the first tease/preview. Now that is giving Noel way too much credit. This will happen eventually, probably just not in 2020. Enjoy the tracks dudes and dollies. We might not get another Oasis "tune" for a long long time. Peace. Love. Dope! This. Debates about artwork, fonts, vocals, and labels for a song that was a surprise. Isn't this what people have been asking Noel to do **checks notes** for forever? To be more spontaneous. To do something for fans. This is on Youtube for as free as free can get. It's quite literally a gift.

The only thing I don't really like are these Zanzibar-like drums, I think it's just not for Oasis sound. But it's a demo so who cares. And yeah, Noel sounds like from DBTT era, it's not NGHFB stuff. At least new tune of these 66 unnamed is appeared, wish to hear more

It's likely just 'cos I think it's a boring track. If it was a banger that I couldn't stop replaying, I probably wouldn't have a problem with it. Maybe it's just the anticlimax of having a new Oasis single in my library and that feeling utterly unexciting. Just feels a bit odd. That's probably just Apple music, then, and however they curate. But on Oasis' spotify and Youtube channel, it's only listed as a demo.

Strange taste? its a FREE song given to us at random. We've all wanted this track for 15 years and now we have it and people are still upset. Its maddening. Don't get hung up on the term "single" its not even being framed that way. Its just a song dropped for us diehards. Nobody is gonna give a fuss in the larger musical world. Its a treat for us. Who cares that it says "2020", that's just how Spotify and Apple are categorizing it. No different than when I ripped the BHN reissue and it said 2017. We all know its from years prior. None of us are dummies. Naturally it has nothing to do with Liam because Noel did all the demos mostly by himself or with Gem. Liam always came in the end to throw his vocals on. This definitely wouldn't have been his song anyways.

I hope going forward he just gathers up all the unreleased stuff and drops one big Anthology thing with Liam's permission. Maybe it's just the fact that I've never found Don't Stop to be any good is what's to blame, I'm glad people are getting to hear a song they've been waiting for. It's all gravy, baby.

In my opinion, people who are 100% Liam seem to hate this track most out of anyone, not saying people cannot have their own opinions, but it seems most hatred of the track is coming from people replying to Liam's twitter, which I find incredibly biased, I mean, seriously, can people have their own opinions? It seems like people who are 100% Liam seem to think it's cool to hate on anything Noel does.

We were talking of doing an “Oasis Anthology” episode inspired by Don’t Stop. Before I start one is there a thread on here that lists all unreleased songs, alternates etc? Well that is just how the media is framing the release to garner huge amounts of web traffic. Seeing “new oasis single” makes people click. I wouldn’t get hung up on that stuff. It fades and this will too. We won’t care how it was given to us 3-5-8 years later. Just that it is now out.

It's a good little classic Noel acoustic number. Nothing extraordinary but it's good. Some of the lyrics are kind of meh. Has anyone noticed how similar the chorus is to Won't Let You Down? I love the lyrics. Just opinion but I love it when Noel manages to say nothing and everything all in one. Not many songwriters have that gift. The "don't stop" bit seems pretty poignant, given everything that is happening now. I didn't say all the lyrics were meh, just some of them, specifically the phrase "Don’t be sad and don’t cry" which looks like a filler. That being said I didn't see them as poignant but with the way you put it, they kind of are aren't they? Strangely enough, they're pretty close to Sail On which really hit a nerve with me for some reason but that one didn't really at first. You made me see them from another eye (or ear)

He still has a couple more songs to clear out and then we officially would enter an era of not knowing what he has left. - Oh Lord - She Must Be One of Us - Let It Come Down Over Me - Sing (If The Song's Worth Singing) - For One So Young Here's the full list post Be Here Now with no official release as I know it: Oasis

Mindfield Feel? Literally the first time I've ever heard about this one. I wonder what other tracks are floating about from the DOYS sessions? It's an Oasis demo, it was demoed for an Oasis record... so that's how it's being released. And it's so unlike Noel to do that, he's usually very protective of the unreleased stuff. And, he could have kept it for himself for a future release. So, people, just be happy and enjoy!

Rather curious to see a song that, while I feel is unspectacular, gain the kind of traction on social media that neither solo ventures provide (aside from maybe debut tunes from Liam).
The weird thing is it's a tune far far inferior to a lot of the brothers solo tunes yet more hyped up and talked about simply by slapping the name of Oasis on to it. Noel releases a similarly held-back song in Come On Outside last month and nobody bats an eye lid!
Possibly an indication of the public desire to see Oasis back together again. Give the public a sniff and they'll go mental yet they'd have been well and truly thrown off scent if Noel had released it under the High Flying Birds moniker.
Anyway, nice feeling to be venturing into the Oasis section of the forum again!

We seem to have abundant info regarding song titles on the Shoulder of Giants, Heathen Chemistry and Don't Believe The Truth sessions but a lot more scant for Dig Out Your Soul. A bunch of Gem Archer written demos (dated 14/05/07) were made available about 2 years ago. It's out there if you look for it. The tracklist was: 1) Standing On the Edge of the Noise [released on 'DGSS'] 2) Mindfield Feel 3) The Roller [released on 'DGSS'] 4) Ballroom Figured [released on 'BE'] 5) In Our Bubble [released as the b-side to 'The Beat Goes On'] 'To Be Where There's Life' was notable absent so I assume Gem had more stuff lying about (unless it was written after of course). Information about songs written around the DOYS era is indeed notably scant. That said Noel and Gem infamously started demoing new songs during the back end of the DOYS sessions ('SB&JF' and some other stuff) but for whatever reason they held the material back much to Sardy's disappointment.

Right. I’m doing a google sheet!
OASIS ANTHOLOGY
Title Writer Era Notes Link (if it’s on YouTube)
Plus there’s also all the pre DM stuff, I Am The Walrus studio, Liam singing Step Out, the electric version of Songbird plus other things without official releases like Within You Without You from the BBC
Plus I’m aware of a few more unreleased tracks from sound checks that are in private collections
I’m sure I saw a thread on here a few years back where someone had collated them all into like a 3 disc anthology ... I’ll have another look

I know it was probably recorded around the same time as DBTT, but the more I listen to it the more Heathen Chemistry vibes I get from it.
It won't shock anyone, but it's a nice little tune. Also listening to Noel's "old" voice was like meeting an old friend you haven't seen for a long time.
I love everything about this release except the fact that they didn't ask for Liam's permission.

Cool song, great to hear a new Oasis demo.
Maybe Noel completely forgot about this song or he would have pick it for his solo work.

Not a particularly good song. It comes from an era of Oasis I'd rather forget, and also doesn't fare well against most of the stuff done by Noel or Liam since with their recent solo careers.
The likes of `Sail On' by Noel, or `Misunderstood' by Liam piss all over this. It's a song that would have been easily forgotten had it been released as a B side at the time of DBBT/DOYS, and a timely reminder that Oasis were not that great post 2000.
